IAG's Back to School "Self-Care" Day. As we get ready for another school year, we wanted to give our girls tips on how to look and feel good, both physically and mentally!

Mrs. Jessica Ledet Harrison of Bridgeway Psychiatric came out to speak to the girls on mental health, learning the warning signs of depression within ourselves and friends and unplugging from the phone, tv, etc.

Mrs. Mindy Henderson of Exclusivity Lounge spoke to the girls about how to look and feel good in the good hair that they were given! Each girl also received a jar of Mindy's own edge control.

Ms. Joanna Ledet came in and taught the girls about her skin care regimen. She also taught them how to make lip & body scrubs using household ingredients. Each girl made their own to take home.

We had an awesome time! The girls have some challenges to complete in order to be entered into a drawing for an Ulta gift card! We know they will do well!

Congratulations to IAG girl Tamirica who will be graduating with Honors from Westlake High on today! Over the years, Tamirica was involved in FCCLA; where she just served her final term as President. She was also involved in Student Council and BETA. Tamirica will study Nursing at Northwestern State University in the Fall on an Acting and Singing Scholarship! Tamirica, we are extremely proud of you and all of your accomplishments. Congratulations to IAG girl Brianna, who will be graduating from Westlake High on today! Over the years, Brianna has been involved in FBLA, Student Council, FCCLA, and BETA. She was also a part of the WHS Varsity Cheer Team for 3 years, as well as a WHS football trainer for 1 year. Brianna was also on Homecoming and Prom Court and was crowned Miss Westlake 2021-2022. She will be attending LSUE in the fall; majoring in Radiology Technology and Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Brianna we are extremely proud of you and all of your accomplishments. This evening, I Am Gracious was honored at Westlake's City Hall for our work in the community. Each girl received a Proclamation from Mayor Bob Hardy proclaiming that "IAG is Educating today's young lady for tomorrow's Women". Thank you Mayor Hardy, Chief Chris Wilrye, Council Members Michael Bergeron, Kenny Brown (my former teacher) Dan Racca (my former Asst. Principal), Skeeter Hayes, Jeremy Cryer, and anyone that I may have missed. We appreciate you taking the time out to recognize us!

Congrats to IAG girl Kea! She will be graduating from Westlake High School on today! Over the years, Kea has been a member of several clubs and organizations which includes Beta Club, FBLA, Student Council and was named 2nd Team All District in girls basketball! She will be attending Louisiana State University this fall! Congrats again Kea! We are very proud of you! 🎉🎉
