Happy Memorial Day to all of our family and friends. As we gather today, we pause to reflect with gratitude, pray for all of those who have bravely served our country, and seek God’s peace for our nation.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

What does it look like when a foster dad gets handed a microphone? Something really beautiful, actually. Josh Cortez spoke at the Every Child Symposium and said what so many of us feel but can't quite put into words — foster care often feels like the wilderness. Out of our control. Stretching our patience. But what if the wilderness isn't just something to survive? What if it's where God is shaping us to look more like Jesus? Every yes to a placement is a willing step into that wilderness.

And here's the good news: you are not unseen there. 💙
