Dragonfly Mission International

Dragonfly Mission International Take care of orphans and widows in their distress.... At this time we are serving about 20 families that are affected by HIV/AIDS virus.

We are a start-up Christian group of people, living in central Indiana, serving a small group of people in Jinja, Uganda. Many of the recipients are widows with multiple children. We are providing about a weeks worth of food per month, but we hope that we can continue to grow and provide each family a sufficient supply of food each month.

Dear sponsors, donors, family and friends,

All of us at DMI want to thank you for your continued support to help the ladies and their families in Uganda. Like a lot of charities we have had some extra expenses during this pandemic. There has been price increases on food, school fees and medical costs. As a result we are in need of your help once again.

I want to clarify a couple of things to our donors and sponsors: we wrote to you all saying that we need to put our school sponsorship on hold. The reason for this is related to the increase of school fees and many schools demanding boarding fee, which we had not planned for. As a result of all this pastor Godfrey and his team spent an extra $4000-$5000 dollars on school fees for the start of school. These extra funds were equivalent to the first and second term fees. We still have the money you have generously given for sponsorship and are now putting our children back in school. We have several students who need sponsors and this too will help us provide the much needed education for these children.

Secondly, I want to again thank you for all you have done for DMI. When the pandemic started in 2020 many of you stepped up and helped us feed the families we serve at $3000 a month. Your giving continued into the early part of 2020 again we are all very grateful for you faithfulness to DMI. Having said all this the latter part of 2021 donations began to decrease for the Nutrition Program. I’m sure we have all been short on cash during these last years. DMI has spent close to $50,000 providing food for our families. With businesses closed down our ladies were out of work and as a result had little to no funds to provide for their families.

As a result we are letting you all know that our Nutrition program needs funds. If you would playfully consider sending a one time gift or commit to a monthly donation to help us feed these wonderful families we, at DMI, would be grateful.

You can send a gift to:
DMI c/o Radiant Christian Life
16162 Carey Rd.
Westfield, IN 46074 or you can go to dmionline.org and press the donate button.

For our sponsors in the resent letter you received we are in need of increasing our sponsorship donation to $40.00 a month. With the increase in school fees this will enable us to insure our children stay in school. (If your child is in Vocational or University we will be in contact with you to discuss the costs and see what you might be able to contribute.)

*If your reoccurring pyment was set up from the previous wevsite, you’ll have to cancel that payment in PayPal and then set up a new reoccurring payment from the PayPal link on the new website in order to change the amount.

I want to reiterate that we are so grateful for all you have done for our families in Uganda and ask that you continue to give and to pray for all of us here and in Uganda.

In Christ’s Service,
Kathy Cernero and the DMI Board

Hi Everyone!
I wanted to share a snapshot of the letter that was sent out to Sponsors & Donors this week. I’ll be reaching out to everyone via phone but if you would like to FaceTime or chat via Google meet or zoom, we can certainly set that up.

If you haven’t received it, feel free to mention it here or email us at:
[email protected]

I had a few emails bounce back as blocked or undelivered. I’ll be confirming your contact information when I reach out to you. It is helpful if you also save the email address as a contact. That should keep future emails from getting lost or sent to Junk.

Hello everyone,
We’ve had two recent hospitalizations from one of our sponsored families in the last week. A school bus was transferring students from the main campus and there was an accident; Viola and several students were in critical condition. So far, she is improving in the hospital. Pricilla has also been in an out this last week and the doctors are still working to figure out what’s wrong.

Both of these girls are taken care of my Betty, one of our widows. This has been an incredibly tough week for them and they could use your prayers.

If you feel led and would like to contribute to food or medical bills for the family, you can do that here:

Dragonfly Mission International is a Uganda Aid Organization located in Westfield, IN that was started in 2009. Our organization assists families in Jinja, Uganda who have suffered the loss of one or both income providing members of their family.

Well we were supposed to be heading to Uganda on Wednesday and we have been making so many plans. It had been 1 1/2 yrs. since we were able to be there so we were so excited. But today we received word that because of raising numbers in of Covid Uganda, Uganda is shutting down. We are heavy hearted and we ask you to pray for Uganda.

From Pastor Godfrey:

“Many of our people are sick with malaria. Swagira has been taken to hospital, Betty is also sick, Moses Waiswa is sick, Beatrice is sick Priscilla is on treatment, my wife Pauline is Aldo sick

Everytime am getting bad news that someone is sick.
Pray for us.”

Our families in Uganda desperately need your prayers. Along with still working through COVID, and the shutdown, and food shortages, they are now also dealing with many people being sick.

Please pray for healing and strength, and that they can feel the love and grace of God now more than ever. And as always, pray for Hope.

Check out these great photos from the food distribution!!! There has been such a great need and your continued support is truly making a difference in the lives and hearts of the DMI families and community.

Uganda is still almost completely shut down due to COVID. Our DMI families are in desperate need of help having access to enough food. We are sending additional money each month to try and have at least some impact on the food shortage.

Here are some beautiful messages of thanks and praise from some of the families.

We hope you’ll prayerfully consider donating anything you can to the feeding program to help get them through the COVID Crisis. Their love and gratitude is immeasurable.
