Union County Torah Center - Chabad

Union County Torah Center - Chabad Jewish Educational Outreach Center The Chabad-Lubavitch philosophy is our foundation and inspiration.

The Union County Torah Center-Chabad is a Jewish educational outreach center and synagogue serving the Union County area (Westfield, Mountainside, Scotch Plains, Fanwood, Cranford, Clark, Springfield). Chabad is an acronym of three Hebrew words: Chochma (wisdom) Binah (understanding), and Daas (knowledge). The Torah Center-Chabad is first and foremost an educational organization, whose basic philo

sophy is that all Jews share the privilege of having been given our spiritual heritage, and that the wisdom and knowledge of the Torah is open to all who wish to learn and grow. Our classes for adults and children are held throughout the year on a thought-provoking range of subjects, taught by our staff scholars as well as dynamic guest speakers. The Torah Center's Sunday Hebrew School is a place where children look forward to spending time. The environment is spirited and the learning is enjoyable and rewarding. In addition, throughout the year, Jewish families from the entire region enjoy holiday parties, programs, and hands-on learning experiences such as the Shofar, Olive Oil, Matzah, and Torah Factories at the appropriate times of the year. Of course, every week we offer warm and welcoming Friday night and Shabbat services in our shul, and every year we hold High Holiday services in a public place -- always open to all. A fundamental value of Chabad is an unconditional love of all Jews, regardless of affiliation, level of knowledge, or observance. This principle is the basis of all of our work; our programs and services are for all Jews. At the Torah Center, all Jews are family, and our home is your home. We invite you to come meet us-learn and celebrate our Jewish tradition together with us. At the Union County Torah Center, what we try to offer most of all is warmth, friendliness, and acceptance that you will sense as soon as you walk through the door.

Union County Torah Center – Chabad to Host “Ladies Night Out” in Honor of Rosh Chodesh Sivan

WESTFIELD, NJ — The Union County Torah Center–Chabad will host a special “Ladies Night Out” on Sunday, May 17 at 7:00 PM, in honor of Rosh Chodesh Sivan, marking the beginning of the new Hebrew month.

Rosh Chodesh, which signifies renewal and fresh beginnings, provides a meaningful opportunity for reflection and growth. This elegant evening is designed to bring women together for inspiration, connection, and creativity in a warm and welcoming setting.

The program will also serve as a meaningful preparation for the upcoming holiday of Shavuot, which takes place on the 6th of Sivan. Shavuot commemorates the giving of the Ten Commandments to Moses on Mount Sinai, one of the most significant moments in Jewish history. As the community approaches this important holiday, the evening offers a chance to connect to its themes in a thoughtful and engaging way.

Titled “Homemade Healthy Dips,” the event will feature a hands-on culinary experience focused on creating a variety of delicious dips and homemade mayonnaise using healthy ingredients. Participants will learn practical techniques and flavor combinations they can easily recreate at home, while enjoying an uplifting and social atmosphere.

The event will take place at the Union County Torah Center – Chabad, located at 111 Laurel Place in Westfield. The cost is $20 per person, and light refreshments will be served.
