What to do with unexpected income? Such as the Covid-19 Stimulus checks or other windfalls? Windfall is extra income that is not the usual, such as bonus, cash gifts, tax-refunds, 3 paycheck months (mine is April and Oct in 2021) and stimulus checks. Most families will get $1,400 per person within several weeks. 1) Tithe 10% 2) Put in savings {until $1,000 Dave R. FPU Baby Step 2} 3) Re-pay all non-mortgage debt 4) Fund Baby Step 3: 3-6 months savings 5) car repair such as brakes or tires if needed. DO NOT use for down payment on consumer debt, or buy something stupid like a bigger TV, but it is okay to use min. amount to have fun though.
