That’s part of the beauty of the church... Jesus keeps putting people around us who have something to teach us, something to receive from us, or simply a place beside us to do life in community.

Join us this Sunday after the 10:30am service for an afternoon of fun—and we’ll have inflatables, activities, and light food! Bring your family, invite a friend, and stick around after service to enjoy it together.

This week, write one sentence.
“Jesus, I have been protecting __________. This week I will surrender it by ___________.”

Do not write something broad like, “I need to trust God more.” Make it specific.

“I have been protecting my pride. I will surrender it by apologizing to my spouse tonight.”

“I have been protecting a secret. I will surrender it by telling someone I trust.”

“I have been protecting my control. I will surrender it by praying about this decision and listening before I act.”

“I have been protecting a compromise. I will surrender it by ending it today.”

Then tell one trusted person what you wrote and ask them to help you follow through this week.

This past Sunday, Pastor Joel shared a powerful message from First Thessalonians 5 about the illusion that if we just know enough or control enough, we’ll finally feel secure. He challenged us to reflect on how our daily habits—and the voices we allow to influence us on TV and social media—can actually add to our sense of fear and loss of control. Let’s remember that true security is found not in our circumstances, but in our faith in Jesus.
