In this past Sunday's message, Lead Pastor Scott Linscott continued our 5-part series, “Who Is Jesus?” with the second message, “Jesus THE Teacher,” looking at Matthew chapters 5–7.

When Jesus taught, people were amazed. He didn’t sound like the religious teachers they were used to hearing. Jesus spoke with confidence and real authority, and His words didn’t just give people information. They challenged hearts and called people to a completely different way of living.

In this message, we look at how Jesus teaches with authority, how His words reach deeper than behavior to transform our hearts, and how His teaching ultimately points us back to Himself. The question for all of us is simple: will we just admire and study what Jesus said, or will we actually follow Him?

Join us for worship through music and the teaching. Our church is a relaxed, come-as-you-are community made up of families and people from all walks of life, and we’re glad you’re here with us. If you haven't visited us in person yet, why not give us a try next Sunday? And if you need to get caught up on a past message you can listen or watch online on our website.

Did Jesus Really Exist? What His Enemies Said About Him | Who Is Jesus? Series | FBC Westbrook

What happens when the people who hated Christianity are the ones making the case for it?

This past Sunday at FBC Westbrook, Lead Pastor Scott tackled one of the most common objections people throw at Christians: "Jesus wasn't even a real person." Spoiler alert: the historians who despised Christianity, mocked it, and actively worked against it somehow all forgot to mention that part.

From Tacitus (Rome's greatest historian, who called Christianity a "deadly superstition" and still confirmed the crucifixion) to Josephus (a Jewish historian writing for the Roman government who had every reason to bury the story) to Lucian (an ancient Greek comedian who mocked Christians relentlessly but never once questioned whether Jesus existed), the evidence comes from five completely independent sources across three different cultures, none of them fans of the faith.

This isn't a Bible argument. It's a history argument. And history has already settled it.

Whether you're a skeptic, a curious seeker, or someone who just got cornered at Thanksgiving dinner, this one's for you.

"Who Is Jesus?" continues every Sunday at 10am at FBC Westbrook in Westbrook, Maine. If you want to listen to or watch the first message in the series --"Proof that Jesus Christ is not a Myth--you can find it on our website. https://lovewestbrook.org/messages/

Our business is not a business at all.

We are a community of people who believe that Jesus is who he said he was. We love each other a lot and try to commit ourselves to loving others and meeting needs wherever and whenever we can. We’re an active group believing that Jesus invited us to join him in mission and carry on as his body.
