MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY!
St. Dymphna (Feast Day: May 15), is the patron saint of those suffering from nervous disorders, mental illness, depression, and domestic abuse. As May is Mental Health Awareness Month and her feast day was just last week, let us take time to reflect on her inspiring witness.
St. Dymphna reminds us that God remains with us even in the midst of suffering. If you have struggled with your mental health, or have walked alongside someone who has, you know how heavy and isolating those struggles can feel. Yet St. Dymphna, along with many other saints who endured deep suffering, reminds us that even in our darkest moments, the Lord is near.
Through suffering, we can grow closer to Christ and unite our pain to His suffering on the Cross. Let us remember that we are never alone. God lovingly gives us the saints as intercessors and surrounds us with family, friends, and community to walk beside us and help lead us closer to Him.
Prayer: Good Saint Dymphna, great wonder-worker in every affliction of mind and body, I humbly implore your powerful intercession with Jesus through Mary, the Health of the Sick, in my present need. (Mention it.)
Saint Dymphna, martyr of purity, patroness of those who suffer from nervous and mental afflictions, beloved child of Jesus and Mary, pray to Them for me and obtain my request.
(Pray one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be.)
