Long time church member & faithful musician for Christ, Kathy Hart, went to be with her Savior this past Sunday morning. A funeral is being held today at 2:00pm at SOTV to celebrate her wonderful life.

Ladies Bible Study - "Its All About Jesus!" Thank you, Marie, for your faithfulness in being a disciple!

Today we want to recognize Marie Rickert and the Thursday morning Ladies Bible Study group. Marie has faithfully helped disciple hundreds of women over her 38 1/2 years of leading, teaching and mentoring this group. May God continue to help her and those who attend that are continuing to be Rooted, Growing and Reproducing Disciples for Christ!

On August 13, 1996 an organizational meeting was held and then on October 14, 1996 our charter was received for L.W.M.L—Lutheran Women's Missionary League at SOTV. In the groups formative years, the meetings were alternated between the Clive site (now Living Faith) and the WDM site. There was close to 80 ladies that formed this women's ministry which sponsored the first Advent By Candlelight on Dec 2. 1996 and began selling Christmas trees. This group continues to meet the third Tuesday of the month and has a passion for mission and service events and helping those in need. We look forward to LWML Sunday each year and a chance for all of us to turn in our mite boxes.

A reminder that the celebration this Saturday evening is a casual & welcoming event. Please don't stress over your attire - we are just excited to see YOU!

7 Flags Event Center (located behind the Caseys gas station)
Social time & check-in: 530pm
Dinner served: 6pm
Program to follow once dinner has been completed.

We will have several photo albums and historical items on display as well as an opportunity to purchase a special keepsake item from the event.

"It's All About Jesus" and we can't wait to celebrate all that HE has done & continues to do!

Here's just a few photos from our Shepherd's Flock Early Learning Center and Kindergarten Program. (Privacy reasons) We are so excited to be celebrating their 25th anniversary this year along with our 50th! We will have more pictures and stories the evening of the banquet as well as a special Sunday recognition on September 24th!

The Shepherd's Staff formed in 1979 to help fulfill a music ministry need at SOTV. This ensemble of ten singers and a sound technician focused on a repertoire of "easy-listening gospel music" in both traditional and contemporary styles. This ministry continued all the way to 2004.
We are very excited to be gathering several former members of this group to reunite at the banquet and bless us with a special song!

It's CHARTER SUNDAY WEEKEND and we couldn't be more excited to have Pastor Mark Baldwin with us this weekend. We hope to see many of you at our weekend services celebrating how 50 years ago, 128 people committed to starting Shepherd of the Valley!
A informal social hour will be offered during 9:15-10:15am Sunday for some fellowship, cake, and a small presentation.
(Don't forget to ask Pastor to give his best Elvis impersonation)

Funny how with all the rain we have been receiving this week it reminds us of a time back on September 4, 1992 when Shepherd of the Valley rallied the community to support those affected by hurricanes in southern Florida. Donated items were sorted and packaged here and sent via semi-truck to those in need. Today SOTV still has a compassionate heart and reaches out to those in need locally, nationally and all over the world. Why? - BECAUSE ITS ALL ABOUT JESUS!
