For those of you who opened your eyes this morning to the start of the week with weight of stress on your chest, a lump in your throat, or racing thoughts and a feeling of dread…
Don’t forget to bring it to Jesus.
It sounds very oversimplified, and possibly annoying.. but most of us forget to do this in the moment.
Look at every aspect of the week that is feeling hard or impossible, and ask Him what He thinks of it. When we are in relationship with Him, we can do that.
Tell Him about your emotions, and ask Him to point out where they don’t align with His truth.
Share your sadness and grief and allow Him to come close and hold it with you.
Make room for Him to give you a higher, eternal perspective that’ll help you view your current circumstances differently. You might find that some of the things that feel so heavy actually won’t matter to you in heaven.
Take your troubles and hand them over to Jesus, who will gladly hold those burdens Himself.
We have to be intentional on weeks and days like today. We won’t just naturally fall into joy and peace. Why? Because the world and the enemy are constantly trying to pull us away from it.
This week could be one of defeat. You could throw in the towel. If so, you will still be totally and completely loved.
Or, it could be a week that you focus your eyes on Jesus and even in your hardship you see His hand in your life. And somehow.. even in all this, your faith deepens.
If you look for Jesus in your suffering, you might find He becomes even more apparent.
And at the end of the week when you look back and see that you made it, you’ll see His imprint on many things, even the hardest of things.
I can’t emphasize this enough: a really hard week is an opportunity to come to know and depend on your Savior more. It does not need to be a waste.
He’s with you, He’s fighting for you, and He will see you through this.. just like He always has.
