🙏Friday, noon to 1 pm - Juneteenth Prayer Vigil🔔

Stop in between noon and 1 pm tomorrow to visit prayer stations and ring the church bell to commemorate this sacred day. It reminds us that while freedom from slavery was delayed, it could not be forever denied. Our Conference Minister Darrell Goodwin is asking each of the nearly 600 churches to open their doors on Juneteenth and participate in this Prayer Vigil for freedom.

💚Sunday, 10 am to 12:30 pm - Father's Day Worship and Summer Coffeehouse☀️

This Sunday, First Church will celebrate Father's Day! We will thank God for wonderful fathers and father figures, and remember those who are now in heaven. We will offer gratitude to all men who act as fathers to those in need. Most of all, we will thank God for being our heavenly Parent. Men who attend worship this Sunday will receive a small gift of appreciation.

A message of hope will be delivered through a story from Genesis 21:8-21. Hagar, the mother of young Ishmael, is forced to leave her family and live in the desert. Before long, they were out of water and food. Hagar lost hope and was scared that her son wouldn't survive. But God showed her a well she hadn't seen before, and they did survive. When we feel hopeless and afraid today, God comes to us and shows us a way to survive. With God, we are never without hope!

A summer Prayground is set up in the Sanctuary with quiet activities for children to enjoy during worship, as well as rhythm instruments and ribbon wands for musical participation!

At 11:30 am, we will host our monthly Coffeehouse. The theme is "Here Comes Summer!" Coffeehouses are full of fun, laughter, good music and community - along with coffee and treats.

Church without Walls will take place at noon, with members of Grace Lutheran and Good Shepherd Episcopal providing this week's bag lunches.

We hope to see you this weekend!

Jesus loves children! Kids enjoy the fact that while adults tell them to grow up, Jesus tells adults to be like children (Mark 10:13-16). This Sunday will be a good day to pray for and celebrate the 59 children and teens who took part in Sunday worship, Safe Space Youth Group, and WOW Vacation Kids Programs this year at First Church. We will celebrate as kids of all ages help to lead this special service. In addition, high school and college graduates will be honored; scholarships will be awarded; and volunteers will be thanked.

Following the service, everyone is invited to a Community Picnic on the common. Thank you to those of you who signed up to bring food, drinks and paper goods. There are a few parking places across from the Senior Center for those who wish to drive over. Lots of good food, games and activities will make our celebration complete!
