Saint Joseph Catholic Church Forming joyful disciples of Jesus Christ who pursue holiness in daily life and cultivate a life of virtue. Paul and Minneapolis.

Saint Joseph Catholic Church in West Saint Paul, Minnesota is a parish of the Archdiocese of St. We form disciples of Jesus Christ who pursue holiness in daily life and cultivate a life of joy and virtue. We are a vibrant community that boasts a rich Catholic culture, attracts significant daily sacramental participation, promotes life (and is full of life), hosts perpetual Eucharistic Adoration (a

nd has for more than 30 years), and cultivates fruitful vocations to the diaconate, priesthood, consecrated life, and marriage. We foster the communal life with opportunities for all ages, including social events; book studies; retreats for men, women, and youth; adult formation; works of mercy; senior gatherings; and more. We are fortunate to have one of the largest and most established Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) programs in the Archdiocese, fully-integrated within our school’s PreK-to-5th-Grade program. Our school, a primary means of evangelization and education, has been serving young people for more than 75 years. Saint Joseph Catholic School forms joyful disciples of Jesus Christ who pursue academic excellence and cultivate a life of virtue. At the core of our school’s mission is evangelization: helping our young people to be good, faithful, and productive citizens – and even more importantly, to know and love Jesus Christ and be virtuous and active members of his Church. Our full commitment to academic excellence is not merely compatible with our school’s Catholic identity and mission, it is demanded by that very mission. We currently serve more than 400 K-8 students and nearly 70 preschoolers.

Happy Labor Day!

In the Catholic tradition, work is more than a way to make a living; it is a form of continued participation in God's creative action. Join us in praying for all who work, for those in need of work, and that we may all glorify God in our work.

"Creator God, thank you for providing us with the gift to share our talents. Provide our community, our nation, our world the fortitude to provide work for all which is decent and fair. Make us faithful stewards of your creation to enhance the human dignity of our global family. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit now and forever. Amen."

What a beautiful evening of sacred music! 🎶

Thank you to all who joined us last night for Cantica ad Caelum: An Evening of Sacred Music for Women's Voices. Our church was filled with beautiful music, artistry, and joy as we celebrated the gift of sacred music together.

A special thank you to our featured soloists — Genevieve Almendinger, Abigail Dawydenko-Johnson, Rue Bastimar, and Josephine Barstad — whose incredible voices helped make the evening so memorable. We're also especially grateful to Erica Skeate for accompanying the concert on piano and organ and adding even more beauty to the evening.

A special congratulations to our Director of Music, Peter Brown, on the world premiere of Memorare, his beautiful new composition that was brought to life for the very first time last night.

Thank you for an unforgettable evening!

Please join us today in praying for the Annunciation community, especially as they mark one year since the tragedy that so deeply affected their community and so many across our wider community.

We pray especially for the eternal rest of Harper Moyski and Fletcher Merkel. May the Lord draw near to their families and loved ones, surrounding them with His comfort, strength, and peace as they continue to carry the weight of their grief.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

Heavenly Father, be close to all those of us who mourn today. Guide our communities in the way of peace.

Today, August 27, we remember.

One year ago, our Annunciation community experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Today, our hearts remain with Harper Moyski and Fletcher Merkel, whose lives, light, and memory are forever part of Annunciation. We hold their families especially close in our prayers, along with all those who continue to carry the impact of that day.

Over the past year, we have grieved, prayed, gathered, supported one another, and continued the difficult work of healing. There is no single way to move through grief, and we know this day may hold many different emotions for members of our community.

We are deeply grateful for the extraordinary love and care that has surrounded Annunciation throughout this past year. Our families, parishioners, staff, neighbors, first responders, community partners, and people near and far have continued to walk alongside us in ways both seen and unseen.

Today, we make space to remember, to pray, and to be together as an Annunciation community. Our gatherings on campus today are private and intended for members of the Annunciation community. We invite our friends, neighbors, and the greater community to join us in remembrance from wherever you are through prayer and acts of service. Serve a neighbor, support a local organization, care for your community, or find another meaningful way to bring hope to others in honor of this day.

Those who wish to support Annunciation directly may give to our Hope & Healing Fund, found at www.annunciationmsp.org,which provides ongoing support and resources for our church and school, students and families, and those impacted by the events of August 27.

As we continue forward, we ask God to guide us in our continued healing, strengthen us in hope, and guide our feet into the way of peace.

We were grateful to welcome Pat and Kenna Millea from the Martin Center for Integration and the This Whole Life Podcast today to spend time with our teachers and staff!

Their talks on the integration of the whole person in Catholic education and ministry was filled with wisdom, stories, and practical insight. Their witness reminded us of the beautiful call to care for the whole person (mind, body, and soul) as we form joyful disciples throughout our church and school.

This past Friday, our entire Saint Joseph Catholic Church & School staff headed off-campus for some seriously fun (and surprisingly competitive!) team building at The Gameshow Studio!

Our staff was split into two teams: the Jets ✈️ and the Sharks 🦈! After plenty of laughs, some intense competition, and maybe a little trash talk (especially from the losing team...), the Jets came out on top and blew the Sharks out of the water! 🏆

We're so grateful for a team of amazing teachers and staff who know how to work hard, have fun, and embrace the joy of serving together in this mission. 💙💛🧡

Please continue to keep our priests, faculty, and staff in your prayers as we enter another week of workshops, trainings, and preparation for the year ahead. We're excited for all the Lord has in store!
