April 2: Holy Thursday Service at 7 p.m. with Holy Eucharist and Stripping of the Altar and Chancel
April 3: Good Friday Service at Noon with Passion Narrative from John, Solemn Collects and Prayers
April 5: Easter Sunday Service at 10 a.m with Holy Eucharist, the Flowering of the Entrance Cross, and Easter egg hunt on the front lawn. All followed by refreshments and conversation in St. John's Hall.

On Sunday, April 19th, St. John's will host a community roundtable facilitated by Thrive Virginia after the 10 a.m. service (around 11 a.m.) in St. John's Hall. All are invited to come, share your thoughts and observations about community needs, and discuss ways to assist others in our community. Thrive Virginia will provide a light lunch.

Holy Week and Easter Sunday are just around the corner! Join us for the following services:
Sun. March 29: Palm and Passion Sunday, with the blessing of the palms in St. John's Hall at 10 a.m., followed by the palms procession into the church, where we will listen to the Gospel narrative from Matthew in parts, listen to a brief message, and share in the Holy Eucharist.
Thurs. April 2: Holy Tuesday/Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m., with the Liturgy of Maundy Thursday, a brief message, Holy Eucharist, and the stripping of the altar.
Fri. April 3: Good Friday Liturgy at Noon, with a brief message, solemn collects, and readings.
Sun. April 5: Celebration of the Feast of the Resurrection at 10 am, with celebratory hymns and readings, a brief message, and the first Eucharist of the Easter season, followed by an Easter egg hunt on the front lawn

The West Point Ministers Association's Soup and Sermon series continues tomorrow at St. John's Episcopal Church, with a service at noon led by Pastor Cliff Collins (The Edge Worship Centre) and Pastor Tom Wilburn (West Point Christian Church), followed by lunch provided by both churches in St. John's Hall (the St. John's Church parish hall). The annual Soup & Sermon series starts next Wednesday, February 25, at St. John's with a noon service followed by 12:30 lunch in St. John's Hall. The West Point Ministers Association faith communities are co-hosting the series again this year, with gatherings on February 25, March 4, March 18, and March 25. All offering collections benefit the West Point Ministers Association's outreach ministries to local residents. Join friends and neighbors, both old and new, for this annual Lenten series. Food for the soul, body, and spirit!
Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and St. John's Episcopal Church are co-hosting the service and luncheon on February 25. Other WPMA member faith communities are co-hosting the remaining three Wednesdays. Come join us!

Ash Wednesday Services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church (916 Main St, West Point, VA) at both noon and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, with music and congregational singing at the 7 p.m. service. Both services will include scripture readings, prayers, the imposition of ashes, as well as Holy Communion. All are welcome! If you are unable to attend either service but wish the imposition of ashes, please contact the Church Office so that we can make it available to you.

Lent is coming! And what does that mean?! Pancakes and Mardi Gras!! All are invited to the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at St. John's Church in St. John's Hall on Tuesday, February 17th from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Drop-in, order, enjoy! Suggested donation: $10/person or $20/family. (And come back to St. John's Church the next day at noon or 7 p.m. for Ash Wednesday Services with the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Eucharist!)

We will have our Sunday morning Holy Eucharist service on February 1, 2026, both virtually and in person, although we encourage you to attend virtually. Much of the alley behind the church, the front lawn, and sidewalks remain too slippery for safe access.
If you do decide to attend in person, we recommend that you use the back parish hall door off of the parking lot or use the front church entrance, using the sidewalk entrance from 9th and Main street.
