Yesterday morning we had a great school supply give-away with the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church West Point community. It was great working together. Here are a few photos yesterday's event.

On August 15th, from 10 a.m. to noon, on the St. John's Church front lawn, St. John's will be co-hosting with Mt Nebo Baptist Church a school supply give away for local teachers and students. Items to be distributed are: facial tissues; paper towels; ziplock bags; and sanitizer wipes. We look forward to seeing you on the 15th!

Join us Sunday, May 24, for the celebration of the Feast of Pentecost at our 10 a.m. service. Listen to the reading of the Act of the Apostles lesson in multiple languages and voices, reminding us of the babble as the people spoke in tongues they did not know, yet all understood! All are invited to wear red to remind us of the tongues alighting like flames of fire. Imagine the "whoosh" of the wind as the Holy Spirit filled the believers, empowering them with the Spirit as they prepare to spread the Good News. The service will include the Holy Eucharist, which feeds us to go out and serve. Stay for refreshments and conversation after the service and meet new and old friends. All are welcome, always!

April 2: Holy Thursday Service at 7 p.m. with Holy Eucharist and Stripping of the Altar and Chancel
April 3: Good Friday Service at Noon with Passion Narrative from John, Solemn Collects and Prayers
April 5: Easter Sunday Service at 10 a.m with Holy Eucharist, the Flowering of the Entrance Cross, and Easter egg hunt on the front lawn. All followed by refreshments and conversation in St. John's Hall.
All visitors are welcomed. Enter as guest; depart as new friend.

On Sunday, April 19th, St. John's will host a community roundtable facilitated by Thrive Virginia after the 10 a.m. service (around 11 a.m.) in St. John's Hall. All are invited to come, share your thoughts and observations about community needs, and discuss ways to assist others in our community. Thrive Virginia will provide a light lunch.

Holy Week and Easter Sunday are just around the corner! Join us for the following services:
Sun. March 29: Palm and Passion Sunday, with the blessing of the palms in St. John's Hall at 10 a.m., followed by the palms procession into the church, where we will listen to the Gospel narrative from Matthew in parts, listen to a brief message, and share in the Holy Eucharist.
Thurs. April 2: Holy Tuesday/Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m., with the Liturgy of Maundy Thursday, a brief message, Holy Eucharist, and the stripping of the altar.
Fri. April 3: Good Friday Liturgy at Noon, with a brief message, solemn collects, and readings.
Sun. April 5: Celebration of the Feast of the Resurrection at 10 am, with celebratory hymns and readings, a brief message, and the first Eucharist of the Easter season, followed by an Easter egg hunt on the front lawn
