1 John 5:18-21
18 We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them. 19 We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one.
20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.
21 Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

There’s a Blessing in the Storm

There is a blessing in the midst of every storm that comes into the believer's life! I am not sure what type of storm is raging in your private life today, but I am sure that if you are a believer, there is a blessing in the midst of your storm! Storms come to cause fear, shake your foundation, destroy your faith, and get you off track! This is Satan’s purpose for your storms! God has a different purpose! He wants to calm your fears, increase your faith, and strengthen your foundation, and get you on the right track!

Job is evidence to the believer that “it rains on the just and the unjust”. You can be living righteous and serving God, yet storms will come into your life. Sometimes you are just picked out, to be picked on, so you can be picked up by the hand of God!

Remember, God told satan, have you considered my servant Job? When God considers you, you are already blessed! The fact that God would take notice of us is a blessing! Rejoice in the thought that God is considered you worthy of a test for a testimony! What a joy to be considered by the creator! So many people seem to live lives unnoticed! Yet, God has taken notice of us today, in His infinite wisdom, and unlimited compassion, He has considered us weatherproof, storm proof, faith proof enough to allow a storm to come into our lives!

1 Corinthians 10:13 –

There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

So, then God considers us, and He knows that we have within us what we need to make it through the storm! To be considered for the Great work of God! To have God watching us and taking notice of our actions, bragging and betting on our faith! Bragging about our integrity! Using us His children to wage war and shame on the enemy! Oh, that God would consider us worthy of such a test! Rejoice, knowing that God is banking on you being able to stand on your faith in the midst of the storm! The blessing here is that he sees stuff in us, we cannot see in ourselves! He trusts us more than we are able to trust ourselves!

The bigger the storm, the bigger the blessing!

It is so easy to heap condemnation on ourselves as believers for our past sins, even though we have repented for them. Those feelings can often cause us to pull away from Jesus rather than toward him even more. That is why we must know and walk in the truth whenever we start to feel distant from Jesus.

God does not condemn you.
Romans 8:1 says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Jesus made you a new creation in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Remember, we cannot change the past. All we can do is repent and move forward, trusting God's Word as truth despite how we feel.

As you are going out today, the Lord will be before you to lead you, behind you to guide you, beside you to protect you and above you to cover you with the Blood of Jesus. Every power of darkness contending with your Glory, shall receive the light of fire of God in Jesus name. I raise the blood of Jesus against every power magnetizing physical and spiritual curse on you and I challenge them by the fire of the Holy Ghost in the name of Jesus. Shouts of joy will never cease from your mouth because the Glory of God is upon you. The Lord will bring a testimony out of your weakness and catapults you to the next Glory in Jesus name. Amen.

God is all you need.
You don’t need a big bank account, a full refrigerator, or even a job. If God wants to, he can have ravens drop food on you as his way of providing. That’s how he provided for the prophet Elijah, who was exhausted and burned-out in the desert; you can read about it in 1 Kings 17. When God turns off one source of provision, he can turn on another just as easily. You can trust him for all you need.

Where God guides, God provides.
After sending the ravens to feed Elijah, God told him to make a dangerous trip to Zarephath. There was a drought in Zarephath and very little food. Yet God provided for Elijah through a poor widow with a generous heart. When God tells you to go somewhere, go immediately. When God tells you to do something, do it right away. When God gives you direction, he will provide what you need to get there.

You must trust him one day at a time.
Why? Because some of your problems persist day after day. For instance, if you have financial problems, you’ll have to deal with them every day. And so we must trust God one day at a time to provide. The Bible says, “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NIV).

God’s promises work when you’re obedient.
God often lays out his plan just one step at a time. He wants you to take the first step in obedience, and then he’ll show you the next step. Each step along the way may not seem logical, but you can obey in faith and confidence, knowing God’s way is always best.

Throughout Scripture, God has commanded us to give back to him the first 10 percent of everything we make. That’s called tithing.

Why does God ask you to do that? He certainly doesn’t need your money. It’s all his in the first place. He just loans it to you while you’re alive.

The Bible says you should practice the principle of putting God first in your income for three reasons: the past, present, and future.

First, tithe out of gratitude for the past. Recognize that everything you’ve ever had has been a gift from God. You wouldn’t have any of it if it weren’t for God’s generosity!

Second, tithe to keep your priorities straight in the present. Put God first in all the areas you want him to bless. Jesus said that when you seek his Kingdom first and make him your top priority, he will take care of all the other needs in your life.

Third, tithe for the future, to demonstrate trust in God. Tithing shows you believe God is going to take care of you in the future and that his promises are not lies. You believe, as you are faithful to God’s command today, God is going to be faithful to you in the future.

You know what I have a hard time understanding? Some people trust God to keep his promises to save them and take them to heaven—but they don’t trust his promise to care for them financially if they put him first by tithing. If you can’t trust God with your finances, then how in the world can you trust him for your salvation?

“Honor the Lord by giving him the first part of all your income, and he will fill your barns with wheat and barley and overflow your wine vats with the finest wines” (Proverbs 3:9-10 TLB).

Don’t give God your leftovers. When you choose instead to give him the first of everything you have, God promises to give you everything you need—and more
