What if some of the things you've been carrying were never meant for you?

Over the next several weeks, we'll be launching a new series called Return to Sender.

Together, we'll examine beliefs, assumptions, fears, identities, strongholds, traditions, and ways of thinking that many of us have picked up along the way. Some are true. Some are partially true. Some may have come from culture, hurt, poor teaching, or simply our own misunderstanding.

The goal isn't to tear things down.

The goal is to return to the Sender.

To return to the God who created us, redeemed us, and is restoring us into His image.

We begin this week with Part 1:

Holy... And Righteous

Before we can understand ourselves, we must understand Him.

What does it mean that God is holy?

What does it mean that God is righteous?

Why do these truths matter
And what happens when we begin viewing our lives through the lens of His character rather than our own experiences?

Let's return to first things.

In communication. In relationships. In Scripture. Right context is the lens we must learn to see through.

Sincere growth is absolutely dependent on it.

Let's this one settle.

In order to comprehend the best news, we have to understand the depth of the worst.

When we broaden our perspective to encompass the vastness of the despair should we be left to our own end, we begin see clearly the need for rescue and the infinite goodness of our rescuer.

This is at the core of everything we believe.

It really is this simple.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

We spend so much of life trying to earn what was never ours to earn.

Grace changes everything.

Not because we worked hard enough.

Not because we cleaned ourselves up.

Not because we finally became enough.

Christ was enough.

This is truth that changes everything.

This is at the core of what we believe at His Youth.
