God called Gideon a mighty man of valor while Gideon was still hiding.

Gideon saw weakness.
God saw what He had called him to become.

That's an important question for us too:

Are we going to let our feelings and experiences define us—or are we going to believe what God says about us?

Sometimes faith means believing God's Word about yourself before you can see any evidence of it in your circumstances.

Your weakness doesn't get the final word.

God does.

SUNDAY MORNING CALL TO WORSHIP

Come expecting. ❤️

There is something special about gathering with the people of God—not because everything in life is perfect, but because He is faithful in every season.

Come ready to worship.
Come ready to hear His Word.
Come ready to encourage someone beside you.
And come believing that God still meets His people when they gather in His name.

What does it take to defeat a lion?

A bigger Lion. 🦁

Scripture tells us that our adversary prowls like a roaring lion.

But that's not the only Lion in the story.

Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah—and He has prevailed.

So when the enemy seems loud, remember:

“Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.”

Don't let the roar of the enemy make you forget the victory of Jesus.

WORD + SPIRIT

We need the Word AND we need the Holy Spirit.

It doesn't have to be one or the other.

We need to know Scripture.
We need to hear the Holy Spirit.
We need truth.
We need His presence.

Pastor Greg put it simply:

“We need the Spirit. We need the Word.”

Jesus said true worshipers would worship the Father in spirit and in truth.

His Place, may we be people who are hungry for both. 🙌

There was a powerful moment during worship Sunday when a word was given about healing.

The invitation was simple: if you need healing—in your body, your emotions, your relationships, or another area of your life—come and let us pray.

And people responded.

We don't have to know yet what every prayer produced. We simply believe what Pastor Greg said later:

“We believe in healing.”

We’re thankful for a church that still makes room to pray, still believes God can touch lives, and still expects Him to move. 🙏

“Do not call that yours.”

Sammy shared something Sunday that started with a simple correction from an older gentleman during Bible study.

When Sammy referred to a struggle as “my” condition, the man stopped him:

“Young man…do not call that yours.”

What a reminder.

Our struggles may be real, but they are not our identity.

We are not defined by our weaknesses, our past, our fears, our failures, or the things we battle.

Our identity is rooted in Christ.

Before you accept another label, ask what God says about you. ❤️

“Yesterday's blessing is a good testimony. Today's altar is a good launching ground.”

We thank God for what He did yesterday—but we need a relationship with Him today.

Find your place.

Maybe it's a favorite chair.
Your bedside.
The front porch.
A quiet room before everyone wakes up.

Wherever it is, make room in your life to regularly meet with God—to pray, listen, worship and hear His voice.

The altar isn't just a place at church.

It's a heart that keeps returning to Him.

DIG DEEP

A strong life needs a deep foundation.

Before anyone admires a beautiful house, somebody had to do the work nobody sees.

They dug.

They prepared.

They laid the foundation.

Pastor Greg reminded us Sunday that our spiritual lives are much the same. Prayer, time in God's Word, obedience and learning to hear the Holy Spirit may not always be the visible parts—but they are what prepare us to stand when the storms come.

Don’t rush the foundation because you're anxious to see the finished product.

Dig deep. What God is building in you is worth building well.
