Friends, there is nothing “happy” about Memorial Day.
It’s not a celebration.
It’s not a long weekend built around sales, cookouts, and extra time off.
It is a day set aside to remember the courageous men and women who never made it home.
The ones whose families got the knock at the door, the phone call that changed everything, the folded flag, the empty chair at every holiday table after.
I get that people mean well when they say “Happy Memorial Day”…but the truth is, there is nothing happy about the reason why this day exists.
Today is a day for remembrance, for gratitude, and for honoring the unimaginable sacrifice made by service members and their families who carry that loss forever.
Take time to remember…and thank God for the blessing of each and every one of them 🇺🇸❤️
