Happy Birthday to My Mom, My Blessing
Mom,
Today the world gets to celebrate the day God gave us you—but I’ve been celebrating you my whole life. Before I ever knew what strength looked like, I saw it in you. Before I understood what unconditional love meant, you were living it out in front of me. You’ve been my first teacher, my fiercest intercessor, my safest place, and one of my greatest example of what it means to love God and love people.
_Proverbs 31:28_ says, _“Her children arise up, and call her blessed.”_ Consider this me rising up today, Mom. You are blessed. You are honored. You are cherished beyond words.
Thank you for the prayers you prayed when I didn’t know I needed them. Thank you for the sacrifices you made that I didn’t see until I got older. Thank you for the wisdom you spoke that I ignored back then but now live by. Thank you for showing me that a woman of God doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful—her faith speaks even when she’s silent.
You’ve carried our family with grace when life was heavy. You’ve laughed with us until we cried. You’ve corrected us because you loved us too much to let us stay wrong. You’ve been the glue, the fuel, and the compass all at once. And somehow, you made it look effortless.
On your birthday, my prayer for you comes from _Numbers 6:24-26_:
_“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”_
May this year bring you joy that surprises you. May it bring you rest for all the seasons you poured out. May it bring you health in your body, peace in your mind, and laughter in your home. May God repay you openly for every seed you’ve sown in secret. May you feel celebrated not just today, but every day—because that’s what you deserve.
You’re not just my mother; you’re my hero. Your unwavering faith and unwavering commitment have instilled in me a stronger belief in prayer and the understanding of what true faithfulness entails. You’re the reason I understand that love is a verb.
I love you more than this message could ever say. If I had a thousand lifetimes, I’d still choose you as my mom in every single one.
Happy Birthday, Mom. You are a gift to me, to this family, and to everyone blessed enough to know you.
