The Christian & Missionary Alliance Church of West Palm Beach was formed in 1928 by a group of believers called The Alliance Gospel Chapel, who had been meeting in a homebased Bible study for more than a year. As they became organized property, for a church building was obtained on the corner of Georgia and Palm Street in downtown West Palm. Sadly the hurricane of 1928 severely damaged the buildin
g that fall. Not to be deterred the small group of believers rebuilt the building and it is still standing to this day. In 1960, as the church grew and the population started spreading out the members of the church decided to purchase a small two-story school building and offices on the corner of Forest Hill Boulevard and Florida Mango Road. The area was know as the Florida Mango Grovelets and would turn into the Town of Lake Clarke Shores. The small church flourished in its new location. Throughout the 1960’s and early 70’s a small preschool was held during the week under the supervision of Mrs. Fredricks and regular worship services were held on the weekends. As the church grew so did its need for more space. A sanctuary was built on the property in the early 1970’s. Throughout the years the church has been very active in our community. The Pastors have held Chaplain positions with the Town of Lake Clarke Shores Police departments and have been called on to teach at local schools and Universities. Another large renovation of the facilities took place from 2005-2007 after the two story education building was severely damaged from the previous years hurricanes. Currently there is one other congregation that meets for services each week here. Along with this congregation a developmental day therapy program run by Development Intervention Specialists, use the education wing throughout the week. There is also an accredited elementary school Rock Point Academy, and an adult training program called ACCESS Academy on campus. All of these auxiliary programs are run through TAPP (The Access Point Project https://www.facebook.com/pg/theaccesspointproject/about/ ) We are excited that the campus is being used to help and reach into all areas of our community. We look forward to what God has for us, as a congregation of believers, each day!
