As we begin our summer study through Genesis we're reminded that, "To bless is to bestow not only a gift but a function," according to Old Testament scholar Derek Kidner.

God is committed to blessing humanity to function in the way God created us to. There is no plan B, only plan A. That's why God moves in the midst of the mess in our lives.

"And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died." 1 Corinthians 15:19-20

The Apostle Paul took resurrection very seriously. And so should we! When we say "we believe in the resurrection of the body," we are making a statement about how our bodies, and all of creation, matter, not just for this moment, but also in the future.

This means we get to live out our future hope now by living well in this world for God's Kingdom.

The CUMAC mobile food pantry van will be offering food and help applying for benefits, such as SNAP, at the Community Pantry of the West Milford Presbyterian Church on Tuesday June 2nd between 10:00 a.m. and noon.

If you are in need of food, please stop by to receive bread, eggs, fresh produce and other foods and speak to a CUMAC representative about available support services.
