AT ALL TIMES

Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

PSALM 62:8

Today's scripture teaches us that we are not to have faith in God just once in a while, but at all times, trusting Him when everything is going well for us and when nothing seems to go right.

Trusting God is easy when things are going well. But when life becomes difficult and we continue to trust Him anyway, that's when we develop character. And the more character we develop, the more our abilities our God-given strengths and the ways in which He has gifted us and wants to use us can be released. This is why I say that stability releases ability. The more stable we become, the more our ability will be released, because God will know that He can trust us.

Many people have gifts that can take them to places where their character cannot keep them. Gifts are given, but character is developed. As God helps us develop our character, we become stable enough to remain peaceful, no matter what our circumstances may be. I encourage you to desire and pursue stability in every area of your life so that all the ability in you can be released.

Help me, God, to develop character and stability so the gifts You have given me can be released, in Jesus Name.

HOPE COMES FROM GOD

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.

PSALM 62:5

In today's scripture, the psalmist David makes a declaration that you and I would be wise to make as well. He says, "My hope comes from him," meaning God.

I believe hope is the happy and confident anticipation of something good. For a Christian, hope is the positive expectation that good is going to happen because of God's greatness. I believe that hope precedes and is connected to faith. A person of faith believes God exists, but more than that, a person of faith also believes that God is good, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). They expect and wait for His goodness, simply because He has promised to give it and they trust Him.

Let me ask you today: Where is your hope? Is it firmly in the Lord? If your hope is in a person, a job, a paycheck, a retirement fund, or a dream you are trying to make come true, it's in an unreliable source. You may be disappointed.

Hope is only as strong as its source, so put your hope in God today, trusting Him completely. He will never let you down!

God, I declare today that my hope is in You and You alone, In Jesus Name.

THIS THREE-LETTER WORD WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING

When I'm tempted to worry, I've found there's a three-letter word that can bring me a lot of comfort and help me to trust God even more. What is it?

In Mark 10:27, Jesus says, with God." .All things are possible

Now, just think about the word "all" for a minute. What does all mean? It means nothing is left out; there's nothing outside of all; there's literally no end to all; it encompasses everything and excludes nothing! All means ALL!

For instance, let's look at a few "alls" in the Bible:

Psalm 103:2-3 says, ... Forget not [one of] all His benefits-Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases.

God is the Lord Almighty ( Psalm 91:1).
Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth ( Matthew 28:18).

In Christ, we have authority over all the power of the enemy ( Luke 10:19).

God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think, according to His power that works in us ( Ephesians 3:20).

God supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus ( Philippians 4:19).

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us ( Philippians 4:13).

All of the fullness of God dwells in Christ, and through His blood, all things are reconciled to God (see Colossians 1:19-20).

We hear these scriptures and frequently say things like "Jesus is Lord of all. He has all power and He forgives all our sins." Yet somehow, we stop short of believing what it all means. We worry, feel stressed-out and overwhelmed, and try to figure out how to solve all of our problems.

We need to get a revelation about how Almighty, all-powerful and all-encompassing God really is so we can live in His rest! Make a determined decision to believe God and His Word more than anything else. God knows all things!

He knew everything about you before He ever invited you to have a personal relationship with Him-He knew every thought you would ever have, every word you would ever speak, every mistake you would ever make, and everything you would ever do.

And He already had a plan to love you into wholeness and help you solve your problems before they ever happened.

God wants to help you and give you His peace, strength, joy and wisdom to live your life every day. Trust Him at all times: when you don't understand, when things don't make sense, when you're hurting so badly you don't think you can stand it another minute, and when life seems unfair. He is all you need, and all things are possible with Him!

Say, "God, I trust You. I know that You love me. I don't always know or understand what You're going to do or how You're going to do it, but I'm not going to worry about it."

"CAST YOUR CARE"

Look with me at 1 Peter 5:6-7. I can say these verses have truly been life-changing scriptures for me:

Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

In the dictionary, the word cast means "to pitch or to throw." God wants us to pitch or throw our cares and worries onto Him and allow Him to carry the weight of them. He wants us to trust Him to take care of it!

But this requires a decision on our part. I've learned firsthand that the only way to have what God says we can have is to do what His Word says to do. In this case, if we want to have His peace, then we must hand our worries over to the Lord.

So, when things come our way that cause us to be concerned, we need God's help. How do we get it? First Peter 5:6-7 lists two important steps:

1. Humble yourself.

2. Cast your care on Him.

How do we humble ourselves? We honestly come before God and let Him know we can't do it on our own- that we need His help to have success in any area of our lives. It's worth it because the humble get the help!

The truth is this: As long as we try to do everything ourselves, God will let us. He won't take care of our problems and worries until we choose to give them to Him. Either we're going to do it or God's going to do it-but both of us aren't going to do it!

Now, casting your care doesn't mean you can be irresponsible. God won't do for you what you can do yourself. You must do what you can do, and then trust God to do what you can't do.

When we humble ourselves and ask for God's help, then He's able to release His power in our situations. It's only then that we can really enjoy life!

So, the cure for worry is to humble ourselves before God, cast our cares on Him, and trust Him. Instead of making ourselves miserable trying to figure everything out on our own, God wants us to place our trust in Him and enter into His rest, totally abandoning ourselves to His care.

It's absolutely wonderful when we can feel completely comfortable not knowing the "why" behind what's happening in our lives. We don't always have to know what God is going to do or when He's going to do it. All we really need to know is that God has a plan and He is in control. We can rest in the truth that at the right time, God will execute His plan.

WHY WORRY?

Worry is the opposite of faith and trust. It steals our peace and joy and even makes us sick. When we worry, we actually torment ourselves-we're doing the enemy's job for him!

Worry is caused by not trusting God to take care of the various situations in our lives. Too often we trust our own abilities, believing that we can figure out how to take care of our own problems. However, we eventually learn one way or another that trying to take care of everything ourselves is too big of a task.

In John 14:27 Jesus says, Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

I love this! God is saying, "I am giving you My peace, but the choice is up to you!"

Again, we so often believe our circumstances are to blame for our unhappiness; however, it's the way we respond to our circumstances that usually causes worry and stress.

Rejection

When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me.
Psalm 27: 10

Even though God created us for acceptance, we all experience rejection as we go through life with other people. Rejection does the most damage to our souls when it comes from people we love, trust, and expect to love and care for us. When we don't care about a person or need them in some way, being rejected by them doesn't affect us as deeply. But when a person holds an important place in our lives and they reject and mistreat us, the pain is intense.

Rejection takes many forms. It's much more than simply encountering someone who doesn't like you or doesn't want you around. These are just some of the ways rejection can manifest in a person's life:

abuse of any kind, including emotional, verbal, physical, and sexual

abandonment

not having basic or legitimate needs met

being ignored or overlooked

being devalued or disrespected

being excluded or left out

being betrayed

not being listened to or taken seriously

not being protected

being the target of someone's anger or rage

being laughed at, mocked, or ridiculed

being judged, criticized, or falsely accused

I have experienced everything on the list above, and perhaps you have, too. Some experiences with rejection are minor, and others are major-meaning that some don't seem to affect us much, while others are life-altering rejections that require a lot of healing, perhaps over a long period of time. I remember a particular experience that seems minor compared with other things that happened to me, but it made a huge impact on my soul.

IT'S A MATTER OF TRUST

Stress and worry have an impact on every single area of our lives-they affect us mentally, emotionally and physically. They have been proven to cause problems like muscle tension, headaches, increased heart rate and a list of other potential issues.

But there's good news: God has given us the ultimate natural stress reliever. What is it? Trust.

Proverbs 3:5 is one of my favorite scriptures. It says, Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

Trusting God is the greatest stress reliever in the world. However, the choice is up to us. We can "rely on our own insight and understanding"-endlessly thinking about our problems, trying to figure everything out ourselves. Or we can choose a trusting attitude that says:

"God, I'm not sure what to do about my situation, but I know that I can't fix it on my own. If there is something specific You want me to do, please show me. Meanwhile, I'm going to trust You and enjoy my life while You work on my problems."

MAKE A COMMITMENT TO CHANGE

Being set free from the pressure of stress begins with God's Word, but we also have to understand that if things are going to change in our lives, we will have to take responsibility to change them with God's help.

For instance, as you seek God for help and rest, He may give you some practical things to do. Maybe He will speak to your heart about cutting back your schedule, getting more exercise, or saying "no" to some things.

I've been there! And I am still there. When stress creeps in, I run to God for help, strength and direction. And when He shows me something to do, then I need to take the responsibility to do it. If I really want change, then I need to do my part.

Again, this is going to mean making a commitment not to live based on the culture around us but by the leading of the Holy Spirit. Our mindset should be: With God's help, I'm ready to make a change. Then as we do what He shows us to do (or what He shows us not to do), we'll be able to live in peace.

I encourage you to do whatever it takes to pursue the peace Jesus is offering you today. Take time to read the Word and spend time in the Lord's presence. As you do, you can begin to manage the stress of this world instead of letting it manage you.

THOSE WHO WAIT UPON THE LORD...

Look with me at Isaiah 40:29-31. It's been one of the most important scriptures of my life: He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might, He increases strength.... Those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power...they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

Waiting on God is the key to overcoming weariness and finding rest. One way we do this is by spending personal time with Him-through prayer, reading His Word, or by simply sitting quietly in His presence. When we spend time with God, He "increases strength." He re-energizes our minds and spirits. He gives us a super- natural rest and ability.

I'll be honest, I would not be where I am today without spending a lot of time with God, waiting on Him to change and strengthen me. It's probably the number one thing I would tell anyone to do if they want to have a great life-if they want to grow, change and enjoy divine peace and rest.

We also wait on God when we "expect, look for, and hope in Him." He wants us to actively look for Him, long for Him, and expect His goodness around every corner. He wants us to have faith that at any moment He will bring the answer to our prayers.

Remember, God never gets weary! And when you get weary, He wants to help you. God wants you to live with His power so you can have peace and joy in your everyday life.

Look with me at Matthew 11:28. It's a scripture I will reference several times in this book. Jesus says, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and over- burdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls]."

Jesus offers us rest. It's the rest we need to live in the world and deal with stressful situations without letting them upset us, ruin our health or steal our joy. It's a supernatural rest we can only find through a personal relationship with Him-it's not something we can find in the world.

What is our part? We simply need to go to Him!

Jesus never promised us we'd have a trouble-free life, but He said we can live above our circumstances. With His grace, wisdom, peace and strength, we can deal with stress and trouble and maintain a good attitude. His rest is a rest we can have in our souls-our mind, will and emotions.
Having this rest is like giving your soul a vacation! It means that
no matter what's going on, you don't have
to worry about it and try to figure everything out. It's a wonderful place to be, because when your soul is at rest in Christ, your emotions are stable and you have peace.

Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

Even though you may be experiencing rejection in some area of your life right now, God is also doing a lot of good in your life. Keep your eyes on the good things instead of ruminating on the rejection. Confess aloud the good things the Bible says about you-positive, Scripture-based statements such as:

"I am accepted by God" (see John 6:37).

"God loves me unconditionally" (see Romans 5:8).

"I don't have to be afraid because God is always with me" (see Isaiah 41:10).

"God is currently working in my life and healing all my wounds" (see Psalm 147:3).

"God gives me favor with the right people" (see Psalm 5:12).

Repeating these truths will increase your faith, and because God's Word has healing power in it, it will aid in your healing. Perhaps you've felt unwanted, overlooked, or recklessly tossed

aside. Maybe you've been brutally betrayed or lost a relationship that meant a lot to you. We are so very sorry. We know it hurts. This journey of healing is a hard one. It takes time and determination. But the fight is worth it. The Word of God is medicine for our wounded souls. It is what God uses to teach us truth and heal us, and He will use it in your life, too. His Word gives you hope when you feel hopeless.

11/13/2025

Avoid falling into the trap of rejection.

Together, we will discover a pathway that leads from heartbreak to courage, from betrayal to overcoming, from painful secrets to freedom, and from insecurity to acceptance and courage.

Right here and now, let us begin with this important determination: We will not allow rejection to separate us from our true source of acceptance and love. The first thing to do in every rejec- tion or disappointment with people is to remember how much God loves you and to refuse to let anything separate you from His love.

Turn to God and ask Him to comfort you. He is the Comforter and can soothe you in ways no one else can (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

Read carefully these words from Romans 8:35-39:

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Consider reading this passage a few times, and let its truth soak into your soul. Let it remind you not to allow the hurt you presently feel to separate you from the knowledge that God loves you in Christ Jesus.

As you read this book, take your time and think about the things we share. So often in life, we are in such a hurry to get finished that we miss what the journey was all about. Take time to meditate on the truth that you are accepted by God.

God tells the Old Testament prophet Jeremiah:

Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument), and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

Jeremiah 1:5 AMPC

Jeremiah was predestined for a good work, but he could have turned away from it. God told him what His will was, and though Jeremiah was insecure and felt he was too young (Jeremiah 1:6), he stepped out in faith to fulfill God's word.

The same is true for us. God has predestined and prearranged a good life for us so that we might walk in it. This usually requires stepping out in faith. Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC) says:

For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
