Pastor preached this morning on, "Don't Touch It!" out of Colossians 2:20-23.

1. In these sets of Scriptures, Paul is warning the church against the dangers of legalism. In Mark 7, Jesus Himself, warns the Pharisees against this stating that they were not observing the rules of God, but choosing instead to focus on the rules and traditions of man. Take note, if man is stating you must follow a rule or tradition that cannot be supported by the word of God this is legalism! Romans 8 tell us we are free of this! We must have a spiritual mind and focus on the things of God, in this we will find life! Paul was preaching to the Colossians telling them to stop following man-made traditions and rules and to follow after the things of Jesus.

2. The woman at the well was in a place of sin. She was bound up, stuck in the man made traditions and religion of her time. But Jesus came to her and brought freedom from that life. He did not judge her, but He spoke the truth. Legalism and religion brought the woman at the well death. Hopelessness. Fear. Despair. But Jesus met her where she was. He brought her freedom, life and a fresh start! Jesus brought her this freedom, but He also told her hey, you have received a new beginning but do not touch the things of your past. Is God calling you to not touch something? A word that is spoken? An action? Take heed!

3. We get things backward sometimes. We can get fixated on things of the world. This is a tactic of the enemy! If he can get us so wrapped up in the world, we can become just like the Pharisees who were literally coming against Jesus for performing miracles! For saving lives! Because it went against their traditions and religion. Jesus did not care to call out the Pharisees but every time He corrected someone, He would do it without judgement or embarrassing that individual. When the Pharisees brought the woman accused of adultery before Jesus, what was His response? He told those accusing her that if any of them were without sin they could cast the first stone. Who was left after these words? No one. Jesus told her, he had no condemnation but to go and sin no more!

We were blessed to have Sister Jesica Mullins with us this morning and what a timely Word of God. She preached on, "Quench not the Spirit" out of 1 Thess 5:19.

1. How many times have we placed limitations on God and been guilty of quenching His spirit? His power? Placing boundaries on how He can move. We need to be more like Jacob and stand and say I will not let you go until we see God move on our family, until we see Him heal. We must be a people of a made up mind. That we say we will not move. We guard our household and we demand that they will see the move of God that our bodies and minds will be made whole in Him!

2. Quench means to extinguish. The enemy is waiting to quench your spirit. He wants to quench your fire. We cannot quench the spirit of God in this day, we must turn it up! We must fan those flames!! We need to stir up the gift of God to stifle the enemy. The enemy has tried to put God's people in a valley, put them to sleep, extinguish and quench their fire but take heart oh Church!!! God is telling us today YOU SHALL LIVE AND DECLARE THE WORD OF THE LORD. Stand up church! Be filled! We need a stirring in the church today, because if we are not filled, how can we catch others on fire?

3. Jesus promised the church a Comforter. Someone to come to us after He left. This is our fire. This is the Spirit of God. Quench not this fire church! Unfeigned faith- is a sincere, geniune belief in God, it is the faith that Jesus will do what He says He will do. Lord, help us to have an unfeigned faith, and an unquenchable fire! Help these dry bones to live again!
