Westlake UMC

Westlake UMC Following Christ, Transforming Lives We understand that we do not follow some generic deity or humanistic philosophy.

We have a particular revelation of who God is in Jesus Christ. One of the most common appeals that Jesus makes in the Gospels is “Follow me.” It is an active posture, not a passive one. We follow Christ, who invites us into community with Him and others.

“Transforming Lives” means that we will be changed by our relationship with Christ. It also means that we are called to be about the holy work

of bringing other people into a relationship with Christ that changes them. Transformation involves an inner and an outer component. We do inner transformation in worship, prayer, study, and accountability as well as outer transformation in stewardship, witnessing, and serving.

🎉 Good news to share! Westlake United Methodist Church has received a grant from the Bar Foundation to support our work with Transformative Youth Justice, a court‑led program serving system‑impacted young people in Travis County.

This grant helps expand access to housing stability, food security, workforce development, and supportive services—strengthening opportunities for young people to grow and thrive. We’re grateful for this important investment in a more just and hopeful community.

From the palm processional to our kids lifting their voices alongside the choir, this morning was full of energy, beauty, and meaning. Moments like these remind us that this story isn’t just something we remember—it’s something we step into together.

Today’s message invited us to see Palm Sunday not just as celebration, but as something deeper—a quiet, courageous counter to the powers of the world. A reminder that love, humility, and hope still have something to say.

As we move into Holy Week, we’re holding both the joy and the weight of the story—and making space for all of it.

So much joy this weekend!

Our Easter Egg Hunt was filled with laughter, sunshine, and a whole lot of running feet. It was a gift to see families, neighbors, and friends gathered together in such a simple, joyful way.

A big thank you to our friends at YPW Spanish School and for helping to make it all happen!

So much holiday joy this morning at Cookies with Santa at Hat Creek 🎅🍪

We loved seeing kids decorate cookies, write letters to Santa, and spend time with Santa himself—with the help of some wonderful “elves” along the way. Moments like these are what make this season feel special.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to share the morning with us, and an extra big shout-out to the amazing staff for being such generous, joyful hosts. We’re grateful for you and for a sweet start to the day. ✨
