Big news—Purdue-First Church Freedom School is expanding! ✨

Join us for a community town hall on Thursday, September 10, at 6:00 PM at First Church to learn about our new after-school literacy enrichment program launching in January 2027 and to share your ideas about whom it will serve and how it will work.

All Freedom School scholars, families, SLIs, engagement leaders, Read Aloud guests, and community partners are invited; refreshments will be provided, and a Zoom option will be available—but we would love to have you join us in person and bring your energy!

Celebrating a new chapter for Wesley Foundation at Purdue! 🎉

Members of First United Methodist Church West Lafayette were so glad to join Wesley on Saturday for the consecration and ribbon cutting of its beautiful new Wesley Foundation Student Center.

Our own Pastor Kory Pritchett helped lead worship music with the alumni band , and Rebecca Pritchett spoke throughout the event as president of the Wesley Foundation Board. Both Kory and Rebecca are Wesley alums.

We’re grateful for our long-standing partnership with Wesley. Through a major gift from the First United Methodist Church Foundation, made possible by the Losey-Patterson family and the estate of Mary Losey, First Church helped fund the building’s elevator. We’re also honored to have donated stained glass from our former church building to the new Great Hall.

We look forward to all the ways this new home will welcome Purdue students to grow, belong, and explore their faith. Congratulations, Wesley Foundation! 💙

Members of First United Methodist Church West Lafayette joined community members in Lafayette on Saturday for the Community Vigil to End ICE Detention at Miami Correctional Facility.

We gathered in grief, prayer, and solidarity with immigrants experiencing detention and violence, and we continue to call for compassion, dignity, and justice for all people.

Thank you to the local organizations and community members who organized this witness and continue to stand for a more just and welcoming community.
