Today’s message by Messianic Pastor Mike Cohen:
The Night G-d Reestablishes Israel: The Eighth and Final Vision of Zechariah
(Ch 1:7- Ch 6) Part 4

This week's Parashah is:
"Behaalotecha" (When You Raise or Mount Up [the Lamps])
Numbers 8:1 - 12:16

Today’s Drash by: Dean Rote

This Parashah is jam-packed, telling the story of the consecration of the Levites, the first Passover in the wilderness, the silver trumpets, the cloud of glory, the departure from Sinai, the grumbling in the wilderness, the first Sanhedrin (an assembly of elders appointed to sit as a tribunal in every city in the Land), and the punishment of Miriam with leprosy.
In this week’s portion, we read also the amazing and dramatic description of when God’s presence came to dwell among His people. It is really amazing that God, the creator of the universe, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the holy God of Israel, desires to dwell among us. It is astounding that the same God who dwelled among the children of Israel in the desert is the same God who chose to send His Son to dwell among us as a physical testimony of His might, holiness, love, grace, and faithfulness.

"The Night G-D Reestablishes Israel: The Eight Visions of Zechariah (Ch 1-6) - Part 3"

This week's Parashah is:
"Naso" (Take a Count) - Numbers 4:21 - 7:89

Today’s Drash by: Messianic Pastor Michael Brown

In this Torah portion, God commands to take a census, and describes the service, of the Gershon family of Levites. The laws (teaching, instructions, or precepts) that the Nazirite should live by, are also given here. To take the vow of the Nazirite upon oneself is a personal choice; it is a special vow of abstinence for a specific amount of time, to be devoted to holiness. Sometimes, abstaining or fasting from things can be seen as a negative thing or be considered legalistic. Yet, the reality is that the world is overflowing with things that may distract us from drawing near to God and His holiness. What is important, however, is being led by the Holy Spirit in this process.
This Torah portion finishes with the gifts the leaders of the twelve tribes brought for the dedication of the altar and the Priestly Benediction. While this blessing is intended for us to receive something from the Lord, we often forget the responsibility that comes with it. We are called to be His ambassadors on this earth, to shine His light in what we say and do, and to remember that we carry His Name wherever we go. While enjoying the benefits of His blessing, let’s not forget that they are ultimately for us to bring glory to His Name.

Today’s message by Messianic Pastor Michael Brown:
"Some Important Reminders on Shavuot (Acts 2:1-41)"

Today’s reading is:
Shavuot Day I – Exodus 19-20
Shavuot Day II – Deuteronomy 15:19-16:17; Numbers 28:26-28:31

Today’s Drash by: Mike Cohen

Shavuot (also known as the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost) began last night at sundown. God commanded Israel to present a grain offering fifty days after Passover (Leviticus 23:15–21). Jewish tradition also identifies Shavuot as the day God gave the Law at Mount Sinai.
The New Testament adds yet another layer of meaning to this holiday: Shavuot was the day God sent the Holy Spirit on Yeshua’s followers. He united these early Jewish believers and gave them boldness to proclaim the gospel.
Here are some lessons this joyful holiday of Shavuot teaches:
• The Holy Spirit empowers Jewish and Gentile believers to live in unity.
• We are to preach the good news boldly.
• The Holy Spirit convicts people of their need for Yeshua and draws them to Him.
• God’s plan was always to bless the world through Israel.

"The Night G-D Reestablishes Israel: The Eight Visions of Zechariah (Ch 1-6) - Part 2"

"Bamidbar" (In the Wilderness) - Numbers 1:1 - 4:20

Today’s Drash by: Messianic Pastor Michael Brown

In this Torah portion we begin the book of Numbers. God tells Moses to conduct a census of all the Israelite men over the age of 20. This is important because these men were the ones who would lead Israel into the Promised Land as an army. Moses takes up a second census to count all of the Levite men. God gives specific instructions to the Levites about their roles in the Tent of Meeting.
The journey from Egypt to the Promised Land is a metaphor for the spiritual journey through life. Just as Israel's journey began when God liberated them from Egypt, our spiritual path begins with a great salvation when we meet the Messiah. Just as Israel's goal was the Promised Land, our ultimate destination is eternal life. Between here and there we face tests, trials, and all manner of adventures. Like the Children of Israel, we may face warfare, temptations, and hardships. As with the Israelites in the wilderness, our success or failure is determined by our reactions to these trials.

Sukkot Shabbat Service 9/30/2023
Today’s message by Messianic Pastor Michael Brown:
"Sukkot - Yeshua's Everything You Need"
SERVICE STARTS AFTER INTRO ANNOUNCEMENTS AT 0:12:51

This Shabbat we celebrate:
"Sukkot I" (Festival of Booths, Day 1) - Leviticus 22:26 – 23:44

Sukkot, a word often translated into English as "tabernacles" or "booths," is a Jewish holiday celebrated on the 15th day of Tishrei. It is one of the three biblically mandated festivals on which Jews were commanded to make a pilgrimage to the Temple in Jerusalem. The festival starts with a Yom Tov Sabbath and continues for seven days. The name of the festival is derived from the commandment that requires Jewish people to dwell in temporary shelters for the duration of the festival as a reminder of the post-exodus years when Israel lived in huts and booths in the wilderness.
According to the prophet Zechariah, in the Messianic era, Sukkot will become a universal festival and all nations will make pilgrimages annually to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast there.
Sukkot is a holiday made up of both a beginning (Yom tov) holiday and subsequent days of intermediate festival days (Chol HaMoed). The opening of the holiday is observed similarly to how one would observe a Sabbath, with certain differences. The intermediate days of the holiday still form part of the festival, but are observed differently.
The themes of joyful celebration and happiness are integral to the holiday of Sukkot.

"Five Suggestions for Parents, Especially Fathers"
1 Thessalonians 2:7-12

"Shelach" (Send Out) -- Numbers 13:1 - 15:41

Today’s Drash by: Danny Sciupac

In this Torah portion, Moses sends 12 spies to scout the Land of Israel. Ten of them convince the people that it will be too difficult to conquer the land. God responds to their lack of trust and confidence by punishing His people with 40 years of wandering in the wilderness.
Making a daily choice to acknowledge God and trust Him – instead of leaning on our own understanding (Prov. 3:5-6) – is vital in our journey of faith. We can choose to seek and obey Him in everything we do, even when it doesn’t make much sense from a human perspective.
The Parashah ends with a list of various offerings, the penalty for violating the sabbath, and instructions about fringes on garments.

This week's Parashah is:
"Vayikra" (And He Called) - Leviticus 1:1 - 5:26

Today’s Drash by: Andrew Jackson

The title "Leviticus" is derived from the Greek Septuagint version of the Torah. The book of Leviticus is predominantly concerned with Levitical rituals. An older Hebrew name for the book was "The Laws of the Priesthood," but in Judaism today, it is referred to by the name Vayikra, which means "And He called." Vayikra is the first Hebrew word of the book, which begins by saying, "And the LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from inside the tent of meeting" (Leviticus 1:1).
Leviticus describes the sacrificial service and the duties of the priests. It also introduces ritual purity, the biblical diet, the calendar of appointed times, laws of holiness and laws relating to redemption, vows and tithes. Leviticus also discourses on ethical instruction and holiness.
In this Torah portion, God describes the laws of animal sacrifice and restitution. God explains the different sacrifices that atone for guilt or sins and distinguishes between sins committed inadvertently and sins committed on purpose. The Torah coupled the commandment to salt the offerings along with the prohibition on leaven. Both rules helped avoid corruption and helped keep the holy things in an imperishable state.

This week's Parashah is:
"Toldot" (Generations) - Genesis 25:19 - 28:9

Today’s Drash by: Andrew Jackson

In this Torah portion, we read that Rebecca and Isaac have twins: the smooth-skinned Jacob, whom Rebecca favors, and the hairy Esau, who Isaac favors. After returning from a hunting trip, Esau asks his brother for some lentil soup, but Jacob tells him he must trade him his birthright. Years later, when Isaac is old and blind, Jacob tricks their father into giving him the firstborn blessing. Jacob leaves home, fearing his brother will retaliate, and finds a wife at his uncle Laban’s house.
It is amazing to see God’s incredible plan unfold in the Scriptures. Out of His endless love and grace, He chose Jacob, who became "Israel," to carry the promised line, even though He knew Israel would rebel against Him.
Something many times we tend to miss in the Scriptures is the thread of love that runs from God to generation after generation. We see this demonstrated in His relationship with the nation of Israel; despite their unfaithfulness to Him, He keeps His promises because of His love, which also extends to all the nations.
