New Midrash Shiur for Women. Beginning January 10, Gloria Nusbacher will be teaching a series of shiurim on Midrash. The shiur will meet on Zoom, Monday evenings at 7:30 and is for women only. The goal of the shiur is to explore Midrash both as a unique form of rabbinic literature and as a means to help us better understand Tanach. There is no fee for attending. Registration for the shiur at [email protected] will enable you to receive the Zoom link and source materials which will be distributed for each session.

As many people will be away this weekend, we will not be able to meet. I would like to thank not only the people who told me that they will come, but also to the people who told me that they were not available in a timely manner, so that I could clearly see that we weren’t going to make it early on in the week. We’ll try again next week (and with Tisha B’Av on Sunday of next week, I doubt anyone will be away).

Also, some good news, Karen emailed me that the Mathnasium will be available for us to use on the High Holidays. I haven’t worked out the details with her yet, so the second most important detail of planning — a place to meet — has been solved. (Most important is insuring enough interest and attendees, now we will start working on that.) We will have a board meeting on Monday night, July 12 at 9:00 PM on Zoom, but even if you are not on the board, you are welcome to attend. We will try to address any questions or concerns people have at that time, listen to suggestions and ideas. Email me if you are interested in joining and don’t already have the Zoom link, and I will send it to you. I know that there is no single time that works for everyone, and I apologize to the people who want to attend but cannot. I will find time to meet with you after the meeting to discuss your questions or concerns, based on feedback that I get at the meeting.
