Congregation Anshei Shalom of West Hempstead is a vibrant, warm and welcoming shul, housed in a beautiful, modern building yet maintaining an old-world charm. We have an ever-increasing number of members spanning various age groups, with many young members and growing families. As such, weekly Shabbat youth groups cater to our next generation and a new teen minyan is hugely successful. Daily minya

nim, weekly shiurim and three Shabbat minyanim, including an early minyan and a Sephardic minyan separate us from other congregations in the neighborhood. Following Shabbat davening, the congregation partakes in a kiddush in the ballroom where our Rabbi greets members and congregants have the opportunity to socialize, meet new members, and extend greetings to guests.

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?
Avi Katz is one of the founders of the Anshei Beis Minyan, a space that has become both a vibrant place of tefillah and a social anchor for the next generation.

Daniella grew up within Anshei - as the daughter of Rabbi Yossi and Judy Asoze, longtime members and leaders within the shul. And this makes Daniella one of the select few 2nd-gen dinner honorees, as her parents were honored at our 34th Annual Dinner, back in 2013. What a legacy!

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?
Josh and Avigael moved to West Hempstead in 2008, with the sole mission of testing the shul with the most challenging Trivia Night the world has ever seen.

Josh is also involved with CSS, Adult Education programming, and serves on the Anshei executive board - all in his spare time from his real job as Assistant Dean at SUNY Old Westbury.

Avigael is a partner at Rivkin Radler LLP, where she serves as a "lawyer's lawyer" - because even attorneys are entitled to due process! She has served as the chair of the Nassau County Bar Association's Ethics Committee and frequently writes and lectures on topics related to legal ethics and professional responsibility.

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?
Norm Kaish co-founded Troop 613, the only Shomer Shabbos Boy Scout and Cub Scout troop serving Long Island and Queens — giving generations of Jewish youth the opportunity to grow through leadership, service, and Torah values.

Lanie is a classically trained singer and instrumentalist, and won the New York State School Music Association’s competition, which gave her the opportunity to sing at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Together, they have recently launched the Wall of Tears Foundation (walloftears.org) to build Holocaust monuments on college campuses and in city parks, for the much needed purpose of educating those who do not know about the dangers of antisemitism.
