Faith Fellowship Church of West Hartford

Faith Fellowship Church of West Hartford We are excited to help people find life in Jesus & live it out so that others can find life in Jesus too!

Our vision is to be a multi-ethnic church that reaches our community with the Good News of Jesus. We desire for people to find life in Jesus & live it out! We exist to see the University of Hartford & surrounding communities be beautifully transformed by the gospel. Looking several years into the future with great hopes and aspirations:

-Desire to be an active part of the community that influenc

es the culture and people’s lifestyles.
-Desire to make a difference in love by meeting real people with real needs and doing everything possible to meet every need they may have.
-Desire to unite students and young adults of various racial and ethnic backgrounds with the gospel of Christ and the worship of our Creator.
-Desire to be a ministry that seeks to model our existence after that of Christ in our living, fellowship, worship, and evangelism.
-Desire to generate new ministries and church plants that will work together to bring the gospel of Christ to the culture, society and people of both Hartford and New England.

Repost

Since December of 2015, I have had a vision bubbling in my heart, and you have no idea the amount of faith (over fear) that I am mustering up to type this post.

As Faith Fellowship Church, we have seen God do amazing things, too much recount in this post, and we praise God for that.

But we are even more excited for what God is about to God next in the life of our church family.

For seven years, I carried on the torch given to me with FFC, and I believe I did all that I could under that vision and banner.

However, to go the next leg of the race assigned to me, it had been under the vision that God poured into my heart.

For some time, we have been working behind the scenes rebranding, revision, refining, and rebelieving this God-sized move that we are undertaking.

So it is with great pleasure that I announce publicly, with those who have known privately, that FFC is now Freedom Light Church!!!

I know many of you will have questions, and believe me, we will answer them in the days to come, but this was a necessary step of faith we needed to take immediately.

So, for now, celebrate with us as we move forward!

The Light is Here!!!

-When someone else holds your hand, it is easier to walk. God holds your hand.

-Even when we have every reason to be afraid, God tells us not to be afraid because He is with us.

-Our failures don’t make us fatherless. God claims us. God is present with us even in our low seasons, no matter where we have been or what we have done.

“Seek to understand the person...”

In part XIII of his sermon series, Pastor Gary talks about Jesus’ command to not judge others.

Instead of judging someone, we can first seek to understand them and get to know them.

Read the scripture from Matthew 7:1-5 to reflect more on the importance of not judging other people. We can use our energy to work on fixing our own faults.

In the most recent sermon, “Contrast: Part XI,” Pastor Gary shares that what we treasure consumes our lives.

The treasures of this world all fade away, but we can store up treasures in heaven by focusing on what God values.

Some Kingdom values to focus on are:
-looking at the things that bring light to other people
-being loving to others no matter where they are
-being locked in on doing good to anyone

God loves us so much, so let us fix our eyes on loving others, too!

“You’re going to see something.” In the most recent sermon, Pastor Gary shares that the sacrifices we make will be rewarded by God. Be encouraged that “your sacrifices mean something in the Kingdom.”

This might change the way you think about prayer!

“You are heard because of love, not because of language!” -Pastor Gary Knighton.

Our prayers are not heard for our great vocabulary or rhetoric, but because we are loved.

It does not matter how fancy our prayers are. Jesus loves us and cares about all our concerns and prayer.

Therefore, we do not have to worry about what we sound like when we pray to God. God already knows what we need before we ask Him (Matthew 6:8)!
