Happy Labor Day!

The first Labor Day was celebrated in New York City in 1882, when workers gathered to advocate for fair wages, reasonable hours, safer workplaces, and greater dignity. The movement sought better conditions for all workers, including the many women and children who were part of the workforce at that time.

We give thanks for generations of workers and advocates whose efforts helped secure the rights and protections we recognize today.

Please note, PSNE office will be closed in observance.

Ella the Office Dog "worked" for the Presbytery this week supervising the sorting of boxes of documents, recycling and working through the archive list for the Presbyterian Historical Society.

She also visited with members and staff at one of our congregations, and is a very good greeter. Thank you Ella for your support, encouragement, and sweet face! 🥰🫶

We give thanks for the life of Dolly Parton, a living saint among us whose life was poured out in love for children, poor people, the sick, the forgotten, workers, and the creation of beauty and joy - the things of God.

For the lives she touched, the wisdom she shared, and the joyful noise that she made, we give thanks.
