Please remember to allocate extra time for your arrival to worship due to the Celebrate West Hartford race. Refer to the attached document for any closures. If you reside close enough to walk, consider that option. Alternatively, you can park in a lot across from the church. Once race begins at 9 a.m., and crowd of runners has cleared the area, you should be able to approach the church from the South, on Main Street and just inform the people staffing the barricades where you are headed.

In honor of Pride month we have chosen The Health Collective as our June Reach Out. The Health Collective is a community-based nonprofit organization committed to advancing health equity and creating affirming spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals and other marginalized communities across Greater Hartford. Guided by its mission to provide high-quality, compassionate care, promote healthy living, and advocate for solutions to the disparities and access barriers people face in healthcare, The Health Collective offers services including HIV/STI testing and treatment, vaccinations, comprehensive dental care, psychosocial support groups, and community-building programs.
The organization’s dental services accept private insurance and offer uninsured clients a sliding-scale fee structure based on income and ability to pay, while medical services are donation-based. No client is turned away due to an inability to pay. Clinics are located at 1841 Broad Street, Hartford and 64 Church Street, Manchester. This summer, a new facility will open at 643 Maple Avenue in Hartford, expanding its ability to provide compassionate, accessible care and connection to the community.

First Church is sponsoring a booth at the West Hartford Pride Festival! Volunteers are needed for 1–2 hour shifts to help staff the booth and welcome visitors throughout the afternoon. Contact Glen, Jennifer or Molly (email or in person!)
