Boner Cemetery

Boner Cemetery Years ago, land was donated by Lindel Boner and Gene Boner. Along with the Boner’s, Lawrence, Beal, Harper and Evans families founded Boner Cemetery.

Boner Cemetery is located two miles south of West Frankfort, Illinois, on Old Johnston City Road.

💡💟 Such a great and beautiful idea. These or something similar are used in other cemeteries nearby. If you have one or get one please let us know so we can start a database.

✨We are looking at a simple, secure way to make giving easier, through a trusted platform used by our local Banterra Bank, where a single click could help preserve the beauty, dignity, and respect our loved ones deserve.

But before we take that step, we want to hear from you. 🫵

If donating were this easy… something you could do in seconds, right from your phone… would you use it? Would it make a difference for you?📲

Please comment below: yes or no. Your voice truly matters more than you know.

♥️There will come a day when all we have left are names, dates… and the way those places were cared for.

♥️Our cemetery is not just land, it is love, memory, history, and the quiet resting place of those who meant everything to us. And its care depends entirely on the kindness of those who still remember.

♥️Because when giving becomes easier… care becomes stronger… and nothing we love is ever left behind.

👉 Leadership starts with one.
In the middle of all of these conversations about the future of B***r Cemetery…
One kind individual quietly stepped forward and committed to a monthly donation.
No recognition needed.
No spotlight requested.
Someone who understood:
👉 this place matters
👉 these families matter
👉 this responsibility belongs to all of us

And chose to act.

That’s how change begins.

Not with a crowd…
but with one person deciding to do the right thing.

Now I’ll ask you, 👉 Will you be next?

📬 Donation forms are available. Please pick one up at B***r Cemetery

👉 THIS is what 5 YEARS without donations looks like. This doesn’t happen overnight.
It happens slowly… quietly… until one day:
• You can’t find your loved one’s grave.
• Headstones are covered.
• The place meant to honor life begins to disappear.

This is not someone else’s responsibility.
👉 This is ours. If your family is buried here, this is your cemetery. Have you donated? We know things are hard right now, but every dollar helps to keep it mowed and cleaned up. If you can’t do $25 a month, could you do $5 or $10?

👉 When was the last time you visited?
When was the last time you stood there…
looked at their name…
and remembered?

These are not just graves.

They are parents.
Grandparents.
Children.
Stories. Legacies. Lives lived.

They deserve more than being forgotten.

And care doesn’t happen by accident.

👉 It happens when families choose it.

So today, ask yourself,

Have I done my part?

📬 Donations keep their memory honored. Please share this and invite people to like and follow this page. ゚

👉 What happens if donations stop?

Let me show you to give you a more clear picture. This is the reality without consistent donations:

Year 1: things start to slip. See the picture below provided by BBC News, showing the consequences of a few missed mows by a city maintained cemetery.

Year 5: it becomes difficult to maintain

Year 10: it becomes unrecognizable

Nature does not wait.
There is no backup plan.

So, let me ask you again.

👉 Is this what we want for our loved ones? Because the future of this cemetery is being decided right now by YOU, ME AND ANYONE ELSE reading this post, whether we can continue to provide a beautiful, dignified, honorable, historic and peaceful final resting place for our loved ones, as well as their families and friends or not.

What can YOU do right now to make a difference?
📬 Donate today by messaging here on Facebook or call Steve Lindsey at 618-920-2472

📍 Forms + envelopes available at B***r Cemetery ready for you to go straight to the mailbox! We are trying to make it so easy, that the envelopes are self addressed and already stamped.

👉 What does it actually cost to care for a cemetery?

🧐Let’s put this into perspective.

The average mow costs hundreds of dollars.
And it doesn’t happen once…

It happens over and over again, just like your own yard.🔄

Now imagine:
Acres of graves
Hundreds of headstones
Care, trimming, cleanup

And then ask yourself

Is a $25 donation once a year enough?

Because in today’s world…
that doesn’t even cover mowing a small yard.

But here’s the truth:

👉 If EVERY FAMILY gave just $25 a month…
this cemetery would not struggle.

It would thrive.

👉 Who is responsible for your loved one’s grave? Let’s talk honestly about some hard topics for a moment.

B***r Cemetery is not funded by the city. There is no hidden budget. No maintenance fund quietly taking care of everything. 🚫

Every single mow.
Every bit of upkeep.
Every effort to keep this sacred place beautiful…

👉 comes from donations.

If donations stop…
the mowing stops.
the care stops.
and slowly… the dignity fades.

So, I’ll ask you a simple YES or NO question. Have you donated recently?

Not years ago.
Not once.

Recently. Intentionally.

Because if not…
who do you believe is responsible?

📬 Donation forms are available now
📍 Message us or stop by to pick one up or to drop a donation off.
❓Would a designated Venmo or CashApp be utilized more than mailing in donations? If so, we can definitely make something happen.

Please respond to the questions above in the comments.

What happens to B***r Cemetery when the donations slowly stop being made by people? I don’t think many people think of this. So let’s be frank and have a hard conversation.

There is no backup plan.
No hidden fund.
No one quietly stepping in.

The cemetery begins to decline.

Grass grows higher.
Headstones disappear into weeds.
And the place meant to honor our loved ones… slowly loses its dignity.

Let me ask you…
💵When was the last time you gave?
🧹 When was the last time you volunteered or offered to help?

Is $25 once a year enough… for the place your loved one rests?

It costs $500+ just for ONE mow.
Now think about how often your own yard needs cut.

What if every family gave just $25 a month… or even every other month?

That’s how we protect this place.
That’s how we honor them.

🕊️ Donation forms are now available in the gold box at B***r Cemetery. They can be made today!
🙏Please stop by, pick one up, spread the word and our page, and tag anyone you know of who has friends or family or other loved ones here so we can ensure a beautiful resting place for loved ones of our past, present and future (that would be “US” people, from young to old). Our future resting place and the resting place of our friends and families rests in our hands. Literally. We not only need monetary donations, but we need volunteers to help pick up sticks, flowers that have blown off, sweeping off the chapel porch, repairing the aged And crumbling wood pieces that line the parking lot, donating and spreading mulch, donating 2 square tall black flower pots from Sam’s, donating and planting some pretty, easily cared for flowers in the pots, donating 20 or more individual solar lights that match and will withstand the weather to add to our parking and chapel area, donating and spreading rock and mulch, just to start with. If you can donate, volunteer, or help, please reach out via email, text or call (contact info located on graphics below) to Steve Lindsey or Jill Graskewicz.

♥️Because love doesn’t stop when the funeral has ended. It’s preserved, cared for and honored.
