Ahoy!

You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance.
Psalm 65:11

Yesterday Pastor Paul led us through our annual "Crown the Year!" Sunday, a time of reflection. The BIG Idea was "Trust God to Crown Your Year in 2021!" Reaching the end of a year is always a good time to look back and reflect on the many ways in which God has bestowed His blessings on us, how He has provided for us, and how He has proved Himself faithful. What are some ways that God has crowned your year in 2020? What are you trusting Him for in 2021?

Ahoy!

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:10-12
When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. 11 And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
Matthew 2:10-11

Yesterday, Pastor Paul gave a message entitled Christmas Stories. The BIG Idea was: "Share the Story of Christmas." It is good for us to slow down and enjoy the simple Christmas story that is found in Luke 2:1-21 and Matthew 2:1-12. Let us be like Mary, who treasured it up and pondered it in her heart (Luke 2:19). The message of Christmas is still as alive and needed today as it was years ago. This generation, this nation, is in need of the hope that the story of Christmas offers, that Jesus came and was “born that man no more may die.” Let’s be the ones to share this message!

Ahoy!

"And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”
Luke 1:45

Yesterday, Pastor Paul gave a message entitled Believe. The BIG Idea was: "Believe God at His Word." We can believe God because His words are true (2 Samuel 7:28), prove to be true (Proverbs 30:5), and do not return empty (Isaiah 55:11). God fulfills His promises (1 Kings 8:20) and never lies (Titus 1:2). The very first place in the Bible where someone believed God is with Abram in Genesis 15:5-6. Mary believed and was blessed. Joseph believed and obeyed. Shepherds believed and took action and spoke out! They also glorified and praised God. The Wise Men believed and rejoiced with great joy, worshipping Jesus and bringing Him gifts. What gifts will you give, what sacrifices will you make for Jesus this Christmas? Do you believe He is the King? Give Him your heart!

Ahoy!

First of all, let's take a moment to remember Pearl Harbor Day! Today we commemorate those who perished, defended, and sacrificed when America was attacked 79 years ago and through WWII. We are forever grateful for the fortitude and spirit of the great generation before us.

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
Matthew 2:1-2

Yesterday, Pastor Bob gave a message entitled The World is Not Watching. The BIG Idea was: "Waiting, Watching, Worshipping Jesus Christ." Two thousand years ago, the world was shrouded in darkness and the single greatest historical event in the history of mankind took place. The world was not watching, but the wise were! The wise follower waits. The wise follower watches. The wise follower worships. Let's walk wisely this Christmas season!

Ahoy!
So Abraham called the name of that place, “The LORD will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”
Genesis 22:14
And the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from before Israel, for the LORD fights for them against the Egyptians.”
Exodus 14:25

Happy Advent Season! Yesterday, Pastor Paul gave a message entitled Our God of Provision and Providence. The BIG Idea was: "God Sees; God Provides!" We have a God of Provision! God loves to provide good things to those who ask Him! (Matthew 7:11) God promises to provide every need of ours. (Philippians 4:19) God provides all grace in all circumstances. (2 Corinthians 9:8) God provided the Lamb, JESUS, to take away our sins! (John 1:29) We also have a God of Providence! God is above all! (1 Chronicles 29:11) God does whatever He wants to do. (Psalm 135:6-7) God directs our steps. (Proverbs 16:9) God fulfills His purpose for each of us. (Psalm 57:2-3) Even America’s founding fathers believed in God’s “Divine Providence.” The Founders concluded the Declaration of Independence by stating, “For the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” May we trust in God to continue to provide for us, our families, and our churches, and may we trust Him to continue to show His Divine hand of Providence over this country, the United States of America!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Be joyful always; pray without ceasing; give thanks in all circumstances...
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Yesterday, Pastor Bob gave a message entitled Taking Inventory of Thanksgiving. The BIG Idea was: "Live a Thankful Life!" How thankful are you, on a scale from 1 to 10? ____ A good test can be found in Luke 6:45, "for out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks." How often do you say, "Thank you"? To Successfully Inventory My Thanksgiving: 1. Be always consciously and constantly recounting (inventory) all my blessings in Christ. 2. Be always found waiting on the Lord. 3. Be always mindful of the power and position of His redemption. 4. Be always found in a posture of praise and prayer without ceasing. 5. Be always found confessing thankfulness. Want to live a happy life? Want to live a blessed life? Live a thankful life!
