In the image below you can see the variety of things our church will be participating in this summer on Wednesday evenings. I wanted to give you the brief schedule that you could print off and put on the fridge, or somewhere, for an easy reference, but I also wanted to give you some more detailed information about some of the events.
On June 3rd, we will be doing some clean up along the Red River for River Keepers. They will provide us with garbage bags, and trash pickers. We will walk some of the trails (they will provide us a map) and pick up whatever garbage we may find. We will meet at 6:00 at the Hjemkost Center. When you come into their parking lot, turn left and head towards the Red River. We will meet up near the rental shack. If you have work gloves, please bring them. We will have some disposable gloves to use, if you don’t have your own.
On June 10th, we will meet at the church to Prayer Walk our neighborhood.
On June 17th we will be using a style of worship known as “Messy Church.” This is a hands on, active approach to worship. Weather permitting, we will be outside. There will be Scripture, crafts and activities, and snacks. Messy Church is great for all ages, from very small children, to the highly experienced. I encourage you to come, and to bring your family (kids, grandkids, great-grandkids) with you.
Then, on June 24, there is an event hosted by Minnesota Public Radio and the Concordia Choir camp called “Bring the Sing.” This is held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead. This is a free evening community sing-along. Regardless of singing ability, community members join together in song and lift their voices communally. Sheet music will be provided for free at the event. If you know you would like to attend this, you do need to reserve a spot here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/minnesota-public-radio-and-the-concordia-choir-camp-present-bring-the-sing-tickets-1988343311369?aff=communitypages
Towards the end of June, I will send this again, with more in-depth info on our July events. Let’s make this a great summer!
