Saint Agnes Church Music Ministry

We welcome the wonderful musicians who help create beautiful music at Saint Agnes Church, West Chester, and the many friends of our ministry.

New members are ALWAYS welcome and no auditions necessary! Sopranos, Altos, Tenors, and Basses! Saint Agnes Music Ministry is comprised of over 50 individuals who come together to make a joyful noise to the Lord. We proudly serve the Church at the local level through our various ensembles, described below:

Youth Choir - Always welcoming students in grades 2-8. The Youth Choir sings at the 10:30 m

ass on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 6-7pm in Thomas Patrick Hall, 2nd Floor. Help guide your child's talent by giving them an opportunity to share their voice with the Church! Adult Choir - open to those who are high school aged and above. The Adult Choir is always welcoming new members and has seats available for sopranos, altos, tenors and basses (even if you are not sure which part you sing!). Please consider joining this wonderful ministry. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings at 7:15pm in church or Thomas Patrick Hall, depending on the week. The Choir sings on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month from late September through early June. Highlights of year include Lessons & Carols, Tenebrae, and an Ecumenical Choral Festival, combining singers for the downtown West Chester churches. Motet Choir - The Motet Choir is seeking experienced singers who read music and are interested in learning music of high difficulty from the Church's past and present. Rehearsals are scheduled irregularly to allow for low rehearsal commitment. Independent music-learning is a must for the group's success. The choir sings a handful of times per year. Cantors - Experienced, strong singers are invited to serve as cantors, who lead congregational singing at the Mass. Cantors must have a music-reading ability and be able to learn music independently. A strong voice and confident presence are necessary. Contemporary Music Ensemble - Under the direction of Mr. Joe Kelly, the Contemporary Music Ensemble participates at the 5:15 pm Mass on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays during the school year, plus additional holidays and occasions as requested. The group practices at 7:30 pm on Wednesday evenings in Thomas Patrick Hall. For more information, please contact Joe Kelly at [email protected].
