Universalist Society of West Burke We meet at 11:00AM on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, April through December.

Unitarian Universalism (UU) draws from many sources:

Direct experience of that transcending mystery and wonder, affirmed in all cultures, which moves us to a renewal of the spirit and an openness to the forces which create and uphold life;
Words and deeds of prophetic women and men which challenge us to confront powers and structures of evil with justice, compassion, and the transforming power o

f love;
Wisdom from the world's religions which inspires us in our ethical and spiritual life;
Jewish and Christian teachings which call us to respond to God's love by loving our neighbors as ourselves;
Humanist teachings which counsel us to heed the guidance of reason and the results of science, and warn us against idolatries of the mind and spirit;
Spiritual teachings of earth-centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature. These principles and sources of faith are the backbone of our religious community.

General Assembly is the Unitarian Universalist Association's annual meeting. Thousands of Unitarian Universalists from across the country participate.

April 4 we will have a zoom service since still too cold for the Hall. Evan will set it up for us. A few of us may be able to be together in family pods. It will be Easter the first Sunday in April. This will be for 4:00 pm. (Forgot to mention time which different from the usual)

Due to this week's covid-19 guidelines re: no multi household gatherings, we will not be meeting in person but services mailed to members.

September 20th we celebrate our 150th anniversary of the Universalist Society of West Burke. This Sunday we will meet outside towards back apple tree area. Masks and distance spacing. No potluck but cake will be afterwards.

Palm Sunday service was mailed out to members we will be in our own homes for our service. Children were sent story and activity. Easter will probably be the same. Staying safe but in community in our hearts.
