Our CCW would like to thank all of our Holy Family family for your generosity regarding our Memorial weekend bake sale. We completely sold out of our homemade items, and raised almost $900 while doing so! As always, your contributions will be utilized in purchasing items for our Mass, and other necessities that keep our church clean and beautiful.

Today, let us reflect on Memorial Day, and all of the brave men and women who have gone before us, marked with the sign of faith.

Let us continue to pray for our military, and thank them for their service.

Yesterday, May 21st, our Holy Family CCW hosted our regional meeting. It was a beautiful, sunny day, filled with approximately 30 beaming members from all but one of the churches in our region.

After enjoying a Continental breakfast of fresh cinnamon rolls, fresh fruits, juices and coffees, an informative meeting chaired by our own CCW member Norma Andrews, the Regional President, took place.

As the meeting concluded we adjourned to the church for the praying of the rosary. Afterwards Knights of Columbus member Don Rozsi accompanied our CCW sisters in the hymn Immaculate Mary.

We would like to thank Fr. Z for celebrating this beautiful Mass with an inspirational homily.

The group reconvened to our parish hall for a luncheon of homemade soups and salads, fresh rolls, and a variety of desserts. As we shared our food each church shared events that were occurring, and our own Bonnie Lauria gifted a medal to each of the participants!!

The guest speaker was our own Knights of Columbus 8948 member Don Rozsi, who coordinates both the monthly mobile food truck and the SE Food Bank senior commodity distributions.

At the conclusion of the meeting a donation of $150 had been raised within the group, and will be sent to Lydia's Gate, a homeless shelter for women and children in Mio.

Thank you to all who participated in this event, and we look forward to reuniting at the next meeting.

It's that time of year when we celebrate graduations, weddings, baby showers, anniversaries, and family reunions. Please think about including our Holy Family parish hall in your blessed events.

Our Holy Family parish hall, located at 402 W. Peters Rd. (right off of M 33 in West Branch) can provide for your event needs by offering ample parking, a large hall, a commercial kitchen, and bright restrooms at an affordable price.

Food insecurity remains a problem and affects many in our community. The Holy Family Knights of Columbus #8948 is invested in helping our friends and neighbors by providing a monthly Food Truck distribution. We serve, on average, 225 families (540 individuals) with food on a monthly basis.

Without financial support from our sponsors who help make this all possible, we would not be able meet the needs of those who are hungry.

We would like to acknowledge our Holy Family choir for the beautiful job they did at today's Mass. Our dedicated, albeit small choir had been hoping to enlist additional members, and today there were new singers standing beside our regulars at the microphone. The hymns, with their harmonies, were angelic. We look forward to hearing your dulcet, heavenly music in the future. Thank you all for your contribution to our Holy Family family.

Today, May 15th, is the holy day of our patron saint of farming, Saint Isidore. Please let us all take this time to reflect on the backbreaking, stressful and dangerous labor that our agricultural community faces, and pray that this harvest season is a safe and fruitful one for us all.

As current food prices continue to climb, it is understandable that there are many people who are experiencing food insecurity. If you happen to be one of them, please know that you are not alone.

Today our Holy Family volunteers provided 257 boxes of food, which fed 604 of our friends and neighbors.

We would be unable to do this without our business and organization sponsors; their generous monetary contributions make this possible.

Finally, we cannot thank enough our team of dedicated volunteers who show up in all sorts of weather (36 worked today, including Father Al) to ensure that none of our friends and neighbors go to bed hungry.

We'll serve those in need at our next Food Truck distribution on June 10th, and in the interim have a safe and memorable Memorial Day weekend.

May God continue to bless our Holy Family family, and may His light continue to shine upon us all.

Today, May 13th, after our Knights of Columbus Food Truck concluded, one of our invaluable volunteers realized that he had misplaced his wallet. He's described it as a black trifold wallet.

We are asking that everyone please check your food boxes to see whether his wallet had accidently fallen into it, as today had a record 257 boxes distributed.
