Never Let Go of Hope

Jesus said, “If you can believe, everything is possible for the person who has faith! (Mark 9:23 - GNT)

Now Faith is - the tangible presence of what you are hoping for (it is knowing, believing, seeing, having confidence while patiently waiting), even though all the evidence is stack against what you are hoping for. (Hebrews 11:1)

Hope is being able to see light despite all the darkness. Hope gets you out of the bed in the morning. It provides warmth when there is coldest all around you. It gives you focus where there are distractions. Hope conquers fear. It energizes a depleted spirit. Hope propels you into the future and to your destiny. Hope lives inside of you as long as you hold onto it. Never let go of hope!

“We must except finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” - Dr. Martin Luther King

For my hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness.

God Wants to Bless YOU!
Bible Study - The Week of 8/23/2020

Hebrews 11:1-3; 6
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

1. What is the definition of “faith” that the Apostle Paul is referring to?

This word “faith” in the Greek means persuasion; conviction in the truthfulness of God; complete reliance upon Christ for salvation; constancy in the profession of your faith.

2. How does a person get faith?

The very moment you allow the conviction of God’s truth and influence into your life, faith begins. There is a measurement of faith given to you by God that begins to work in you (Romans 12:3). This faith is always present. It is constant; continuous; forever; unceasing; uninterrupted; unremitting; perpetual; relentless; uncompromising. The forever “Here & Now” faith in God is what pleases Him.

3. Is it possible to have Godly faith without hope?

Absolutely not! The substance of things hoped for is faith. Hope is the feeling of trust. Faith is the act of trust. Your confidence in God along with His Word, ushers you the door of “Faith”.

The brother of Jesus tells you to “humbly accept the Word planted in you, which can save you” (James 1:21b).

“For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?” (Romans 8:24)

4. How do we obtain a good testimony?

A good testimony is obtained by the acceptance of the “Good News” of Jesus Christ (receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior), accompanied by your faith walk. When you “Walk by faith & not by sight” you start developing your good testimony. The testimony of your faith walk.

5. What does it mean to diligently seek God?

God rewards those who diligently seek Him. There are 5 different Greek words for “diligent”. The Greek word that the Apostle Paul is referring to in verse 6 is “ekzeteo”.

“Ekzeteo”, which means to search out; investigate, demand, crave, worship. The Apostle Paul is saying that, God bestows blessings in recognition of those who craves (really want to know Him) and truly worship Him.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” (John 4:23)

You could say that, God is seeking for diligent people (people who’s hearts crave after His righteousness & truth) to bless them.

For the eyes of the Lord search back and forth across the whole earth, looking for people whose hearts are perfect toward him, so that he can show his great power in helping them. (2 Chronicles 16:9 - Living Bible Translation)

Building Up Your Spirit!
Bible Study - The Week of 8/09/2020

1 Corinthians 14:1-5 (NKJV)
1 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.
4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
5 I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.

The Greek Word for “edify’ is oikodome, which means to build; to strengthen.

Questions and Answers
1. According to the Apostle Paul, What should Believers be seeking to obtain?
Paul is telling us that we must seek to engage in God’s unconditional love in order for us fully demonstrate His love. 1 John 4;7-8 says, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because GOD IS LOVE.” We must continuously practice the Love of God for it to always be seen in us. It’s our pursuit of His love that demonstrates our love for Him. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)

2. What is it that Believers should long for, hope for; actually crave after?

As Believers we should “DESIRE” spiritual gifts from God, especially the gift of prophecy. Spiritual gifts helps to build the Body of Christ and the Kingdom of God. Prophecy brings greater insight to the Body of Christ for who He is and what He is doing. This creates a brighter light in an already darkened world.

3. How does speaking in tongues benefit the individual speaking?
When we praise God in the private language of tongues, we create an atmosphere of intimacy just between ourselves and Him. He understands us but no one else does. The Bible tells us that there should be an interpreter of the tongues spoken whenever in the presence of unbelievers, in order to not it create confusion to unbeliever.

4. List the 3 benefits of prophesies to the Body of Christ. Prophesies speaks (1) edification (2) exhortation and (3) comfort to the people.

5. What does the Apostle Paul mean when he says, “I wish you all spoke with tongues?”
The power from this intimate language between you and God is a path to His inner court. “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.” This form of praise automatically ushers you into the presence of God. While in His presence you are re-energizes, strengthen, and refresh, feeling the fullness of God’s joy, peace, and harmony.

The Help Jesus Provides for You
07/26/2020 - Bible Study:
John 16:5-15 (NKJV)
5 “But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ 6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

Questions & Answers to the Bible Study:

I. Why was the disciples hearts been filled with sorrow?
Jesus had just told the disciples that rough times were coming. That they were going to be throw you out of the temples. And not if, but when the people from the church come to kills them they’ll think that they’re doing God a favor. He told them, that He was warning them because He was about to raise up. He was on His way back to the One who sent Him. But none of the disciples asked Jesus, ‘Where are you going?’ But because, of the things that He had just told them, sorrow had filled their hearts.

II. Please, list the thing that Jesus identifies as the purpose of the Holy Spirit.
1. He is the Helper.
2. He will convict the world of:
a. Convict the world of sin
b. Convict the world of righteousness
c. Convict the world of judgement
3. The Spirit of Truth (Holy Spirit) will:

b. He will not speak on His own authority
c. Whatever He hears He will speak
d. He will tell you things to come
e. He will glorify ME! “Jesus”
f. He will take that of ME (“Jesus”) & declare) it to you
4. What does Jesus mean when He says, “He will take of Mine and declare it to you”?
The Spirit of Truth which is the Holy Spirit will proclaim & explain who I am, The WORD. The Word of God is Jesus (John 1:1–5; 14) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. The Holy Spirit will clearly indicate who I am. Why I came. Where I have gone. What I can do for you. And what you can do for My Father.

For every willing and yielding individual, the power of the Holy Spirit will influence the way they think; commanding their thoughts, their opinions, and their behavior to fall under the subjection of God’s Word. Just as Jesus submitted to Will of His Father, we’ll submitted to the His Word.

III. Why does Jesus refer to the Holy Spirit as a person (He)?

* Will - 1 Corinthians 12:11
* Mind - Romans 8:27
* Intelligences & Goodness - Nehemiah 9:20
* He Loves - Romans 15:30
* He Grieves - Ephesians 4:2
