Little Bahala Baptist Church Little Bahala Baptist Church The Little Bahala Baptist Church is located on Faith Lane in Northeast Lincoln County, Mississippi.

Originally, this site was a part of Lawrence County. Because of this, the constitution of Little Bahala Church is recorded in the Lawrence County Courthouse in Monticello, MS. The church was established in 1818 by settlers from North Carolina who traveled through Georgia on pack horses, following game and Indian trails. It and the surrounding community are named for the creek that runs through the area. “Bahala” is an Indian word for muddy water.

John 8:32 (NIV): "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

What does the Verse Mean?

The Truth: Refers to God's word and the message of Jesus Christ.

Freedom: Freedom from the burden of sin, doubt, and fear.

Application: Understanding and living by God's truth brings lasting peace to your daily life.

Reflection:

It is easy to seek freedom in the wrong places—through control, material things, or the approval of others. However, Jesus reveals that true freedom is a byproduct of truth. When we anchor our minds in God's promises instead of our worries, the heavy chains of anxiety, guilt, and fear begin to break. Living in the truth means you no longer have to carry weights you were never meant to hold.

Prayer:
"Dear God, thank You for the freedom that comes from Your truth. Wash away any lies, doubts, or anxieties I am carrying today. Help me to walk confidently in Your word, knowing that Your love sets me free to live fully and peacefully. Guide my steps and clear my mind.
Amen."

John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
