Scripture to study:
📚
“Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

🎲 Just roll the dice?

What if life’s uncertainties aren’t about luck at all?

Jessica Breazeale’s newest blog, “Just Roll the Dice,” offers a powerful reminder about letting go, trusting God and remembering Who holds the outcome.

By Jessica BreazealeYou know the phrase. Somebody's staring down a decision — a job offer, a first date, whether to say yes to the thing that scares them — and they shrug and say, "Well, I guess I'll just roll the dice."It's a phrase we use for recklessness. For giving up on strategy and letting...

Everybody knows . Almost nobody talks about Vashti — the queen before her, tossed aside for saying no to being put on display for a room full of drunk men. We call her difficult. Defiant. A problem.

But Shiphrah and Puah said no to Pharaoh, and we call that courage. Daniel said no to the king's table, and we call that courage. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said no to the fire, and we call that courage.

Same shape of "no." Different verdict for Vashti.

Here's the thing…without her “no”, there's no queen vacancy. Without the vacancy, there's no Esther. No Book of Ester. Vashti never knew she was making room for anything. She just knew she said no and lost her crown for it.

Maybe your "no" has felt like that too…a boundary nobody applauded, a hard choice nobody wrote down. But God doesn't waste chapters. Not hers. Not yours.

She stood up for something she believed in — whatever it cost her — and Scripture doesn't give us her reasons. It doesn't give us her heart. It just gives us her refusal, and the consequences that followed.

It's time Vashti got some credit, too. đź‘‘

(Now go enjoy the juicy book of Esther and see what comes alive for you!)

Dug down into today!

Who wrote it
Why did he refer to the Lord as his shepherd
Did He really mean we would not want
Why is lying in green pastures and drinking from still waters important
What did it mean in those times to restore your soul
why is the Lord guiding instead of us pursuing him
Did the valley really mean death or just dark times
as believers are we not to fear
why should the rod and staff comfort me
Why wasn't the enemies taking care of before we sit at the table
why was putting oil and keeping my cup full important when it's said
surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…did that mean we weren't gonna have a bad times
In the end, we WILL, dwell in the house of the lord forever!

Also, the placement of where it is in the book of psalms, Psalms, 22, the past, he suffered. psalms 24 the future, he will reign. psalm 23 is the present, He is with me. so between the cross and the crown. There's a shepherd walking with his people through every valley.

We started service today talking about “walking with Jesus” by doing an interactive lesson / activity for fun!

Then our Word from the Lord today was on what we can learn from a humble desert plant:

đź“–
the resurrection plant, also known as the Rose of Jericho…

This plant looks completely dead. Dry, brown, curled up in a tight ball, like there's no life left in it at all. But give it just a little water, and within hours it opens back up, turns green, and comes back to life.

We couldn't help but see the Scripture in it. We talked about Ezekiel and the valley of dry bones — bones that had no business breathing again, until God breathed life into them (Ezekiel 37). We talked about Lazarus, four days in the tomb, called out by name into new life (John 11).

Maybe you feel a little like that plant today. Dried up. Curled in on yourself. Like there's nothing left. But God specializes in dry places. He's not afraid of what looks dead. All it takes is a little water — a little Word, a little hope, a little touch of His Spirit — and He can bring life back to the places you thought were gone for good.

If God can resurrect a plant, and dry bones, and Lazarus... He can resurrect anything in your life too. 🌿

Dry was never death.
Dry is not permanent.

It was biology. We are made to need God!

You’re cordially invited to join us tomorrow (not that you EVER need an invitation, for real!)

Service at 10 am âś…
At Diversicare of Brookhaven

Our services are interactive!

We learn and grow through activities, open discussion, and scripture reading đź“–.

We meet every Sunday except the 1st Sunday of the month.

Don’t just go to church. BE the church!
U can help us serve coffee, assist, hug & pray over our precious disabled or elderly.

You can make a huge impact. 🫵
You’re needed. There’s plenty of service out there and not enough hands to do it.

Church is not a building. It’s a body.
Church is not a place. It’s a people.
Don’t check a box. Check your heart.
Do be ready, willing & available to do whatever God calls you to do. 🤝

By Jessica BreazealeI stood in Wesson Park and watched something beautiful happen on Saturday. The sky didn't cooperate. The weather had every reason to keep folks home. What a morning! 🎉

We signed a giant card for someone special, played some old-school fair games for prizes, and enjoyed beautiful music from Miss Millie. We also celebrated our sweet Ginny's birthday! 🎂

And then we got into the Word...

“Please Leave."

Ever had someone tell you to leave? How did that feel?

Today we walked through the story of the Gerasene Demoniac in Luke 8:26–39 — and friends, it wrecked me in the BEST way. Jesus shows up, does something absolutely miraculous... and the people beg Him to LEAVE.

But here's what I love: Jesus doesn't leave without leaving something behind. 🙌

When Jesus shows up, everything changes, whether we like it or not. 🎯

If you've ever felt like you were too far gone, too broken, too wild for God to reach, this story is for you.

Grateful for this congregation and this morning. What a gift. ❤️
