We sang 🎶
We did craft time 🙌
And then for the main event…we gave God’s message 📖 💥

Today 🗓️ at Diversicare Nursing Home ♿️ , we shared “Written on His Heart.” ♥️

We followed a fascinating trail of through .

1. Jacob took a stone and made it a pillow—and that place became Bethel, where God met him.

2. Aaron wore twelve stones over his heart, carrying the names of God’s people before Him.

3. Joshua set up twelve stones from the Jordan so future generations could look at them & remember what God had done.

4. And Scripture ends with the glory of the New Jerusalem filled with precious stones.
💎

One stone.
Twelve stones.
Stones of remembrance.
Stones of promise.
Stones that point us to God’s presence, His people, and His faithfulness.

And then we see the greater picture: 👀 all those stones point us to Jesus. ✝️

Jesus is not just another stone in the story—He is .

He is the foundation everything rests upon.

He is the One who carries His people, the One we remember, and the One who holds the whole story together. 📚 📖

🗞️📰The stones may remind us of where God has been, but the Cornerstone reminds us where our hope is—Jesus Christ, a way to have a hope and a future when there was no way for us previously! ❤️🙏 🙌

This morning we started with a “guess what’s in there” game. Each person had to feel inside the box to guess the item.

We sang old hymns 🎶

We talked about our former gardens what we grew 🌱 🍅 🥔 🌽 🌳

Our sermon was on “Light Before Sun” - and we looked at Gen 1. Plants were growing before the sun was created on Day 4…a beautiful picture of the true Source of Light! ☀️

1. The SOURCE doesn’t need the instrument.

Gen 1:12
“The land produced vegetation—all sorts of seed-bearing plants, and trees with seed-bearing fruit. Their seeds produced plants and trees of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.” This is Day 3.

2. John already made the connection.

John 1:1
“We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.”

3. Growing before the sun shows up.

Now read Gen 1:14-19
AFTER PLANTS 🌱 WERE ALREADY GROWING, 🪴 God made the Sun.

This is Day 4.

Why? Sunlight didn’t make them grow. The LIGHT of the World did! ☀️

Revelation 21:23 describes the new creation — heaven coming down, God dwelling with His people — and it says this: "And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light."

Did you catch what just happened? We started in a garden with plants growing under light and no sun. We end in a city with no need of a sun — ever again — because the thing the sun was always just standing in for has finally shown up in full. The Lamb — Jesus — is the light. Not reflecting it. Not carrying it. Being it.

And then Revelation 22:5, just one chapter later, seals it: "And there will be no night there — no need for lamps or sun — for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever."

Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow!

Everybody knows . Almost nobody talks about Vashti — the queen before her, tossed aside for saying no to being put on display for a room full of drunk men. We call her difficult. Defiant. A problem.

But Shiphrah and Puah said no to Pharaoh, and we call that courage. Daniel said no to the king's table, and we call that courage. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said no to the fire, and we call that courage.

Same shape of "no." Different verdict for Vashti.

Here's the thing…without her “no”, there's no queen vacancy. Without the vacancy, there's no Esther. No Book of Ester. Vashti never knew she was making room for anything. She just knew she said no and lost her crown for it.

Maybe your "no" has felt like that too…a boundary nobody applauded, a hard choice nobody wrote down. But God doesn't waste chapters. Not hers. Not yours.

She stood up for something she believed in — whatever it cost her — and Scripture doesn't give us her reasons. It doesn't give us her heart. It just gives us her refusal, and the consequences that followed.

It's time Vashti got some credit, too. 👑

Why did he refer to the Lord as his shepherd
Did He really mean we would not want
Why is lying in green pastures and drinking from still waters important
What did it mean in those times to restore your soul
why is the Lord guiding instead of us pursuing him
Did the valley really mean death or just dark times
as believers are we not to fear
why should the rod and staff comfort me
Why wasn't the enemies taking care of before we sit at the table
why was putting oil and keeping my cup full important when it's said
surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…did that mean we weren't gonna have a bad times
In the end, we WILL, dwell in the house of the lord forever!

Also, the placement of where it is in the book of psalms, Psalms, 22, the past, he suffered. psalms 24 the future, he will reign. psalm 23 is the present, He is with me. so between the cross and the crown.There's a shepherd walking with his people through every valley.
