Wellington First Congregational UCC

Wellington First Congregational UCC All God's people are welcome here, no matter who you are or where you are on life's journey. We are one of 5300 congregations of the United Church of Christ.

This congregation is founded upon the Gospel of Jesus Christ and lives its communal life through loving God, each other, and our neighbors. We serve God in many ways but are particularly proud of our outreach and ministry to those who are cast to the side by many in society. (www.ucc.org)

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

🙌🏾 Happy Easter!

"Holy Love, May the promise of new life enable us to end the things that do not serve us, to end the attitudes that do not honor you, and to end the ways in which we are complacent and complicit in the world.

"Empower us to leave those things in the tomb and follow your trail. Jesus, you have demonstrated the path of your kindom, keep us on the road of abundant and transformed life as revived and encouraged participants in your resurrected and glorified body.

Have mercy on us, Holy One. Amen."

-Rev. Dr. Cheryl A. Lindsay,
Minister for Worship and Theology, UCC

Lent 2026

We invite you to really embrace this season of Lent as a time reflection, renew, action, and prayer.

Join us for Ash Wednesday Worship Service on February 18, 6:30 pm for communion and the imposition of ashes.

Our Lenten Worship and Sermon Series is "Tested, Opened. Naked." Each Sunday, we will have engage in a Lenten ritual to root us more tangibly in our faith.

We will distribute a Lenten devotional for daily meditation, reflection, and prayer. (Send a DM or email Pastor Cheryl for a digital copy.)

Choose for yourself what you will take on or set aside as a spiritual practice and act of faith in God and solidarity and love for neighbor. We invite you, as you desire, to share those commitments in the comments so we may hold one another in prayer, accountability, and support.

May this Lenten Season bring a revival in our spirits and be a catalyst of restoration in our world.

With Lenten Hope,
Pastor Cheryl Lindsay
