Well we’ve had an absolutely amazing three weeks here at Panfork! The Texas Baptist Camp Builders have come and gone and . . . WOW . . . What a phenomenal blessing they were!!! I can’t say enough about this crew and their Ministry! They save Camps like ours MANY thousands of dollars every year. But even more importantly they are literally partnered with us in helping spread the good news of Jesus to thousands of children, youth and adults every year. Like D’Lora told them the last morning they were here, going forward they will have had a part each and every time God touches a heart here at Panfork. From the depths of our hearts, THANK YOU TBM Camp Builders!!! Y’all are AWESOME!!!

And to top off an already incredible three weeks, last night God sent 1.3” of MUCH needed rain. Blessings upon blessings!!! Now hopefully the neighborhood cows will be able to find a little something to eat in their own pasture rather than in front of our tabernacle!

We are in the midst of very busy days here at Panfork! Texas Baptist Camp Builders rolled in last week to give us three weeks of much needed help. I can’t say enough about these wonderful people. The words “humble servants” comes to mind multiple times each day. They come with a willingness to do anything we ask. They make it abundantly clear they are here to serve. They believe in the mission of Panfork and of all the camps around Texas and they occasionally take their services out of state. They are truly being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Pray for us as we continue going forward during these challenging times. God continues to make it abundantly clear He is far from finished with Panfork. As I tell people often, I truly believe Panfork’s best days are ahead of us!

Well I really don’t even know where to begin except perhaps by saying God is Faithful! Yesterday was an amazing day and a tremendous amount of work was accomplished by a good group of hard working Panfork partners. Just over 60 people showed up, got assignments, went to work and did an incredible amount of work in a very short time. Virtually everything I had on my list was nearly completed by 11 AM. People kept coming back for more jobs and we just kept finding more for them to do. And then at noon we wrapped up with an incredible meal! It was honestly quite encouraging to watch such a group of people serving God so wholeheartedly!
I really don’t have the words to adequately express my appreciation to those who came. And I feel a little apologetic because try as I might I realize there are a few I failed to get a photo of. But God knows who was here and who gave of their time and abilities.
Pray for Panfork! We have a huge challenge but we also have an amazing God who has been making our challenges look almost trivial.
A big “Thank You” to all who came and helped as well as to those who are partnered with us but couldn’t make it.

Well as I prepare for a very busy work day that will begin in about an hour or so, I feel compelled to pause and say a bit of a pre work day “Thank You”. Larry Stephens couldn’t be here today so he made a point to drive over from Pampa with his skid steer and do a dirt work project we’ve needed done for about 1.5 years. He did a phenomenal job in a very short time turning an eyesore into a nice looking area. And he did a couple of other small projects as well. Thanks Larry!!!
Raymond and Nancy came over from Skellytown a couple of days early, as they often do, to simply do anything and everything they can to help. Raymond is one of those men who can do just about anything and he is so very willing to do whatever I ask. These last couple of days he’s done mechanical work, electrical work and some demolition work. And Nancy has a true servants heart and spent her time helping D’Lora in the office. Thanks Raymond and Nancy!
Cindy Bevly and her husband Lee (not pictured) are two of our most under recognized helpers as they often come out and do a wide variety of tasks. They are two of Panfork’s most willing servants who are a tremendous asset to camp. Other than D’Lora and I, they spend more time here at camp than anyone.

Folks like these are an encouragement and serve as a reminder that people love Panfork and strongly support its mission. The work they do as well as the work to be done by those who will arrive shortly is literally work towards building the kingdom of God.

This . . . . This is what Panfork is about! It’s what we’ve been about since the late 1940’s and it’s what we will continue to be about for many years to come.
I love that while renovating these old cabins I often find hints regarding the history and legacy of Panfork. While opening a wall in the old Lefors cabin I discovered several notes written on the studs. This one in particular really got my attention. It says, “I trusted Christ in 1964 and in 1971 I gave Him my life for whatever He wanted me for. Signed Brian. My Pastor was Brother D Bistow.”

Our favorite Good Friday message!

Challenge: Because I personally hate to think about Jesus’ suffering, I tend to concentrate on the glory at the end of the story. But today I want to make sure I sit awhile with all the struggle, and pain and suffering that Christ was willing to endure on my behalf- and yours….And then, I will anticipate His glorious Sunday VICTORY !!!!

This week is ALL about Jesus!!!!
