Caney Cemetery Veteran’s

On Decoration day in honor of our deceased Veterans US flags were placed on their graves.

A total of one hundred flags were placed throughout the Cemetery. 99 men and one woman.
There are known soldiers from Civil war, WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Korea and peacetime area.
Serving in Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy and Marines .
Four known Purple Heart recipients and one Bronze Star recipient.
Purple Heart

2. David Clark Fuller -Vietnam - Marine
3. Dennis Willard Sanders Sr. -WWII - Marine
4. Byrl A Nolan - WWII - Army

Bronze Star
1. Delmer Jennings -Vietnam - Army

Decoration this year was a little wet, but we enjoyed the time together. The potluck food was tasty . Thanks to everyone who joined us and provided food. Our time to remember those that have passed on was very comforting .
Our caretakers of the cemetery did a wonderful job, as always, in seeing that the cemetery grounds and our loved ones' graves are well taken care of. Thank you.
Thank you to the men who put the American flag on the graves of our veterans. There are around one hundred men and women who served our country buried at Caney. Our hope is to be able to place a flag at each grave. If you notice we missed someone please let us know.
I will be posting pictures that where sent to me from this year decoration if you have some you would like to share, your welcome to send them to me to be posted.

Decoration Day & potluck is a week from tomorrow, Sunday, May 18th. Hope lots of people come! Potluck is from noon to 1:30. (Weather permitting) Burgers & pulled pork sandwiches provided by board members. Bring sides, desserts & drinks. Don’t forget lawn chairs!!
