Everyone Has a Story Part 2:
sometimes it makes you cry, sometimes it makes you to have reservations of who is telling all they know. It can rob you of the joys of life. You may even wander where God is at in of this. He is our shelter during the storm.
The week of May 20th through May 26th, 2019 brought several severe storms through Northeast Oklahoma. Working in the electric industry for 40 years I have seen all types of storms. Storms present some scary moments and often bad things happen to Good people.
That week my workplace Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative pulled together for one common cause. To restore electric to our cooperative membership, as we know there were several tornadoes, flash flooding, violent winds and hail. Yet our cooperative employees choose to take on the scary moments to restore power.
Late in the evening of May 22nd, 2019 there was a cat seeking refuge from the storm, the winds were howling, the rain was coming down very heavy, wicked lightning with heavy thunder and yes even a tornado brewing to the SW of our cooperative building. The poor cat was looking everywhere for a place of shelter. First it tried the storm drains, however way too much water was coming out. It then tried to climb the fence but could not muster itself over it. Finally, in desperation it looked to the parking lot and ran as hard as it could to seek refuge under a truck. The truck was there because an employee was working out in the storm, little does that employee know that his vehicle became a place of refuge for the cat.
I say all of this above to let you know that is what has been happening for almost 20 years. Storm after storm, after storm. In those storms there is no fences we won’t climb, there are no storms drains we won’t search, there will be no stone that will be left untouched. So as the cat found shelter under the truck, we will tell all of you that, we first find shelter in an almighty God, he is our strength, our source and our savior. We find shelter in our families, yes both families that have lived this. We have cried together, laughed together and searched thousands of places through the years, then we find shelter in many of you, because you have been there praying for all involved. You have offered and gave of your time to look for resolution. We thank you for that.
Psalm 32:6-8 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
So keep praying, keep your ears open and there will come a day that all things in secret will be revealed.
