If you need help trusting again join us on Monday nights.

Did you know struggling to trust can become a hang-up?

Sometimes we say, “I just don’t trust people.”

But underneath that may be a heart that learned the hard way that people can leave, lie, disappoint, or hurt us.

So we build walls.
We question people’s motives.
We expect the worst.
We keep one foot out the door so we can’t be blindsided again.

Those walls may have protected us once… but eventually, they can keep out the very people God sends to walk with us.

Recovery doesn’t mean trusting everyone.

It means learning the difference between wisdom and fear… setting healthy boundaries while allowing God to heal the places that taught us everyone is unsafe.

Trust can be rebuilt.
Walls can come down.
And healing can teach us that our past doesn’t have to decide how we connect with people today.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3

Join us at Gateway CR and we can run our race together!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In the previous chapter Paul has reminded us of the great (flawed) people of the Bible who have gone before and the faith they exhibited as they lived out their lives. This is our heritage. I’m also blessed with a heritage of grandparents and parents who passed on their faith to me. We’re not running this race alone.

This verse reminds me of a marathon where all of the people line the streets cheering on the runners. Their encouragement and support keeps the participants from giving up.

We’re running a race and we have support from God and our brothers and sisters from the past. Now we just need to do our part and lay aside everything that hinders us from running. What weighs you down? Sin? Resentment? Bitterness? Grief? Low self esteem? Guilt or shame? Fear? We can’t run the Christian race with joy and energy when we’re crippled with any of the weights God never intended us to carry. Strip them off. Lay them at the feet of Jesus. Run the race confidently and victoriously!

Have a great day! Keep your eyes on the finish line! You can do it! We can do it together!

Did you know attention-seeking can be a hang-up?

Sometimes the need to be noticed, praised, reassured, or validated can become something we depend on.

We may chase attention because deep down we’re afraid of being forgotten, overlooked, or not enough.

But healing begins when we stop looking to people to constantly prove our worth and start believing what God says about us.

At Celebrate Recovery, we learn to uncover what’s underneath the behavior and allow God to heal the places that keep asking, “Do I matter?”

You do matter.
You are seen.
And you don’t have to perform for love.

DID YOU KNOW ISOLATION CAN BE A HANG-UP?

Sometimes isolation doesn’t look like being completely alone.

Sometimes it looks like saying, “I’m fine,” when you’re not.
Ignoring the phone call.
Pulling away when life gets hard.
Convincing yourself nobody would understand.
Trying to carry everything by yourself.

But recovery was never meant to happen alone.

God created us for connection. There is healing in finally letting someone else know the real you…the struggles, the fears, the failures AND the victories.

You don’t have to disappear when you’re hurting.

Come out of isolation.
Step into community.
Let somebody walk with you.

💔 Grief can be one of the toughest hurts we will ever face.

Sometimes loss is expected. Sometimes it comes without warning and changes everything in an instant. Either way, grief can leave us carrying sadness, anger, confusion, loneliness, and questions we may never have answers to.

But here is something we want you to remember:

You don't have to walk through grief alone.

📢 Celebrate Recovery isn't just for drugs and alcohol. It's for anyone struggling with a hurt, hang-up, or habit, and grief and loss can be some of the deepest hurts we carry.

🌍 COMMUNITY IS WHERE HEALING HAPPENS

When we're hurting, it can be tempting to isolate ourselves. We may tell everyone we're okay when we're not. We may try to stay busy, push the feelings down, or convince ourselves that we should be "over it" by now.

But grief doesn't follow a schedule.

Sometimes healing begins with simply showing up, being honest about where you are, and letting someone else walk alongside you.

That's one of the beautiful things about Celebrate Recovery. You don't have to have everything figured out before you walk through the doors.

Come as you are.

🙌 Celebrate Recovery is for everybody, for every background, every hurt, every struggle, and every person looking for hope and a fresh start.

Most importantly, Jesus meets us in our grief. He isn't afraid of our tears, our questions, or our broken hearts. He stays close when life hurts the most.

Lord Jesus, we pray for everyone walking through grief and loss today. Be close to the brokenhearted. Bring comfort where there is pain, peace where there is confusion, and hope in the moments that feel overwhelming. Surround those who are hurting with people who will listen, pray, and simply be present. Remind us that we were never meant to carry our burdens alone. Amen. ❤️

One of the biggest misconceptions about Celebrate Recovery is that it’s only for people struggling with alcohol or drugs.

The truth is… Celebrate Recovery is for anyone with hurts, habits, or hang-ups.

Maybe your struggle isn’t addiction. Maybe it’s:
