STAFF FEATURE TUESDAY!! Nathan and Joy Stoddard serve in Buffalo, NY! They are an absolute gift to our region! Here is more on Nathan and his family!

Nathan has been serving as the area director for Young Life Buffalo South for the past 14 years. Nathan grew up in Henrietta, NY and was involved in Rush-Henrietta Young Life from 94-97. While at SUNY Geneseo, Nathan, was a volunteer leader at Wheatland-Chili HS. After graduating college with a degree in Economics and a certification to teach Social Studies, Nathan felt the Lord calling him to go on Young Life staff. Nathan met his wife Joy through some high school friends who were attending Houghton College and leading Young Life together in Springville, NY. While Joy was involved in YL briefly at Gates-Chili HS she grew to love Young Life at Houghton College while leading at Springville HS. After getting married Joy became a Young Life leader in Orchard Park and volunteered for 10 years.
A word from Nathan: “What I love most about Young Life is that we are able to meet kids where they are at and allow them to make their own informed decision about the person of Jesus Christ.”
Nathan has seen hundreds of kids come to Christ over his time in Young Life. Nathan works with students at Orchard Park HS and oversees ministries in Hamburg HS, Orchard Park MS, Springville HS, and Hilbert College.

STAFF FEATURE FRIDAY!!!! Today we are featuring John Myers. John is on staff in Buffalo, NY and this is his first year on staff! We are so thankful for John and the work he is doing with kids in Buffalo! Here is some more about John:

My name is John Myers and I have been on staff for 6 months now in the town of Clarence, NY. I grew up in a small town south of Buffalo called Springville. Springville has actually been where all of my Young Life experience has been leading up to this year. I went to Young Life in high school and got hooked right away and was a campaigner kid through and through and loved everything about it. My leaders really made me feel important and loved. I had met Christ before YL so it was a great tool for me in High school to invite my friends to it and experience Christian community. I then began leading at the school I graduated from and I began to feel like God was using my talents and skills to His glory through this ministry. I was convinced that I wanted to go on Young Life staff when I realized how much my heart hurt for kids at Springville high school that didn’t have a relationship with the God who created and designed them. I am learning so much already in my time on staff and I am excited to see how God will use this call on my life. I feel blessed to be a part of such a great network of friends in the GNE.
