Today's devotional

“Love sometimes demands courage, and His peace holds you while you choose the hard.”

Scripture
And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
Luke 23:23

Have you ever known a hard decision was coming, and you felt your stomach drop? Maybe you’re trying to protect your family, your team, or your own peace, but every option feels costly.

In 2 Samuel 20, David faces Sheba’s rebellion and chooses a swift, clear response to stop more harm. It’s a reminder that love sometimes looks like courage, not comfort. When you don’t know what to do, Scripture invites you to ask God for wisdom (James 1:5) and to trust Him to make your path straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).

If you’re standing at that crossroads today, you don’t have to carry it alone. Take a breath, name what you’re afraid of, and invite Him into the next right step. God is faithful in the messy middle, and His peace can hold you even while you choose what is hard.

Today's devotional

“Victory can still ache, but He stays close to the brokenhearted and makes peace possible.”

Scripture

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Romans 12:18

Have you ever “won,” but still felt empty afterward? Maybe you got the outcome you wanted, yet something in the relationship cracked, and now you are carrying both relief and regret. You may even wonder if it was worth it.

In 2 Samuel 17:24-19:8, David regains his throne, but the moment is drenched in grief as he mourns Absalom. His victory parade is interrupted by a father’s cry. It reminds us that success can still ache. Scripture says the Lord is “close to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18), and David’s tears show God welcomes honest pain, not polished strength.

If you are trying to move forward while still hurting, you are not failing. Bring what was lost to Him in prayer and ask for a soft heart that can forgive and heal. Romans 12:18 calls us, as far as it depends on us, to live at peace, and God can show you the next small step. Even when outcomes are messy, His presence stays steady.

Today's devotional

“Stop running on empty; surrender your day to His Spirit, and His strength will lead.”

Scripture
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
Romans 8:14

Do you ever love Jesus and still feel stuck, like you are trying to follow Him on empty? Maybe you have prayed, read the Word, and pushed yourself to do better, but your heart still feels tired and unfulfilled.

Jesus never meant for you to walk alone. He promised the Holy Spirit would be your helper and teacher (John 14:26), and Romans 8:14 says God’s children are led by the Spirit. Following Jesus is not just belief in your mind; it is surrender in your day.

Today, you can tell Him where you are worn down and ask His Spirit to take the lead. Watch for a gentle nudge, a new courage, or a quiet peace. Even small steps of trust can open space for His strength, and He will not leave you as you grow.
