Want to spend a Saturday morning helping thousands of people? Then we have an opportunity for you!

Asbury UMC will be hosting its annual Rice Meal Packing Event on September 19 in the Show Arena at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. There are 4 1-hour shifts. Want to work all four hours? That is okay too!

These rice meals will go back to Midwest Mission where they are distributed wherever their is a need...locally, nationally, and internationally.

Have an elementary child who attended Rainforest VBS this summer? They had a chance to participate in this--we would love to have you come with them and experience this again!

Are you ready for this fall? We are!!! Here is a run down of what is happening!!!

*August 25: 5:30 PM--Bell Choir begins rehearsals.
* August 26: 6 PM--Asbury Choir begins rehearsals.
* September 16: 9:30 AM--WOW (Women on the Walk) Bible Study begins
*September 16: 5:30--6:30--Party in the Parking Lot Kick Off! Our kick off for all children and youth ministries! We will have a foam party, hot dogs, and more!
* September 19: 8-12--Rice Meal Packing at Van Diest Building at the Hamilton County Fair grounds. Watch later this week for details on how to sign up to help!
* September 20: Rally Day! Sunday School for children/youth will begin at 9 AM. Worship at 10. Then a potluck to follow!
* September 23: Kick off of regular Wednesdays: middle school youth will be 3:30-5. Meal 5-5:30. And Awana from 5:30-7.

This Sunday we invite all who are heading back to school this fall to bring their backpack (or similar bag) to worship with them on Sunday. We will say a blessing for the upcoming school year and give you a token to help remind you of this blessing on both the good and bad days.

And we really do mean all. Heading to school to as a student? You are invited to bring your bag. A teacher or paraeducator heading back? You are invited to bring your bag. School bus driver, food service, administration...you are invited to bring your bag. Because everyone needs a blessing as the year starts.

Serving lunch today at West Twin Park until 1!! Everyone is invited! Walking tacos!

Our Lunch in the Park crew could use some extra help tomorrow and Friday so if you have some time to spare it would be greatly appreciated!

Here is the rundown...same for both days:

9:30 AM--help prepare and load the meal up. Meet in the church kitchen.

11 AM--Serve the meal at West Twin Park Shelter.
