Chat GPT says it all! Tomorrow is our Annual Meeting following our 10:00am worship service. And following the Annual Meeting we will enjoy a soup luncheon compliments of the Mission Board! Potato soup, chili, chicken noodle, broccoli and cauliflower soup, corn chowder and Creole okra corn soup are on the menu. A free will donation to support our local food pantries will be taken up. Christmas Eve is almost here!

At 5 p.m. we will gather in our sanctuary for our beautiful Christmas Eve candlelight service. The choir will sing, the story of Jesus' birth will be proclaimed in scripture and song, communion will be shared, and the offering will benefit the UCC Christmas Fund. We will conclude by sharing Christ's light and singing "Silent Night." Join us as we celebrate his birth!

We are again canceling adult education and our 10 a.m. worship service tomorrow, due to the anticipated storm and the snow emergency declared by the city, which will seriously impact our parking. This was not an easy decision to make, and I have discussed our options with our church Moderator Curt McCoskey. But we decided that the safest course of action was to cancel church tomorrow morning. We are also scheduled to host the Blue Christmas Service tomorrow evening, and the decision to hold it or cancel will be made at noon, in consultation with other participating ministers and the funeral directors involved. Needless to say, these are disappointing developments.

We are sorry to announce that our outdoor Live Nativity scheduled to be held tomorrow eve from 6:30-8 pm as part of the "Christmas in the City" festivities, has been canceled. The impending winter storm, forecast to begin tomorrow afternoon, has resulted in several activities being canceled including the Christmas parade, and so we feel it is best to also cancel. No decision has been made at this time regarding rescheduling the Live Nativity. We want to thank everyone who had volunteered to be a part of this cherished event put on by our church.
