✨ National Catholic Media Highlight the Diocese of Tulsa & Eastern Oklahoma

The National Catholic Register has named the Diocese of Tulsa & Eastern Oklahoma among the nation’s most “fruitful” dioceses - highlighting strong growth in baptisms, weddings, seminarians, and adult converts.

Based on data first reported by Catholic World Report, Tulsa tied for first place nationally.

Bishop David Konderla points to a culture of invitation at the parish level as the heart of this growth.

💜💜🩷💜 Fourth Purple Candle - LOVE
🕯 “In Christ, God has entered human history so that humanity might enter the life of God.”
— Pope St. John Paul II

As we light the fourth candle of Advent, the Church invites us to contemplate love made visible.
In his Advent reflections, Pope St. John Paul II often reminded us that the Incarnation is not an idea or a symbol - it is God’s decisive act of love entering human history.

Christ comes not from a distance, but from within our humanity, choosing to dwell among us so that no human experience is untouched by divine love. In Mary’s “yes,” love takes flesh. In the coming of Jesus, love draws near.

This final candle calls us to prepare our hearts to receive that love - not only as something to admire, but as something to welcome, live, and share.

Reflection Question:
➡️ Where is God asking me to make room for His love - so that it may be made visible through me this Christmas?

For Catholics, September is the month of Our Lady of Sorrows, immediately following August’s devotion to the Immaculate Heart, and preceding October’s devotion to Our Lady of the Rosary, September is an ideal time to strengthen our connection to Our Lady.

The Seven Sorrows of Mary are important for us to know and pray. They are all based on scripture and help us recall Mary’s role in salvation history.

The Seven Sorrows of Mary

1. The Prophecy of Simeon
2. The Flight into Egypt
3. The Loss of Jesus for Three Days
4. The Carrying of the Cross
5. The Crucifixion of Jesus
6. Jesus Taken Down from the Cross
7. Jesus Laid in the Tomb
