While I'm honestly not sure where exactly to begin, after having been quiet on social media for a season, I think it's as good a time as any to provide an update on things.
So, a little while back, we had made an announcement that there was something big coming. Well, the big news that we were preparing to share was that Mayday Ministries has officially been recognized as a non-profit organization! While this is still big news that we are extremely excited about, it has been overshadowed by a more recent and unfortunate event.
On October 29th, my wife (Melissa) was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident that almost claimed her life. While by the Grace of God, Melissa was able to get out of the vehicle before the subsequent fire reached her, she still sustained some life altering injuries. While God has been so faithfully and graciously providing for us, we are still facing a mountain before us. Although Melissa is now home and hopefully will not require any more surgeries, she will still be out of work for a minimum of 3 to 4 months and require aggressive physical therapy. Due to currently needing 24/7 care, for at least a portion of that 3 to 4 month time period, I will be home providing direct care for her. While it is a blessing to be able to be the one to provide this care for her, unfortunately, it leaves us without any income for at least the next 1 to 2 months. Although our world may have stopped, the world around us hasn't. We still have two kids who have needs/wants, a mortgage, utility/grocery bills, and other miscellaneous things to pay and take care of. Then, add on to that, the fact that this all happened right around the holidays. Unfortunately, this brings about it's own unique set of challenges, as well. Thankfully, though, we serve a God that can move mountains!
While I'm not normally one to ask for help, I recognize that we are currently in a difficult season where we really need it. A friend of the family has recently put together a gofundme to help support us during this time and has also asked us to put together a wishlist for the kids for Christmas. Below, you will find the links for both. So, if you are in a position where you are able and feel lead to, we would very much appreciate any help and/or prayers that you are willing to send our way. I'd also just like to say that Melissa and I both thank you for your help and prayers during this difficult season! It means more to our family than you know!!
Finally, while all programs and future events have been temporarily put on hold, please know that we are still here to help others however we can. Our phone is still on too if anyone wants help or needs to talk. So, please, don't hesitate to reach out!! Also, make sure to check back soon for more updates and some more exciting announcements!
